Let me start by thanking all the members of the team that developed this fantastic application, Video DownloadHelper. I strongly believe it is the best in its class.

I live in South Africa, where the cost for online access are literally going through the roof, even worse for the son of the soil in the heart of Soweto. Video DownloadHelper has assisted me to improve my academic performance as I am now able to watch educational videos many times at no cost.

The feature that I like is the ability to choose the quality of video that you want to watch. It makes it possible for one to have a video that complements the kind of graphic card on uses, especially the low budget cards.

I use this on Mac and Linux (Fedora 28) and it works great on both! It worked well before the addons trstrictions and works well now with the companion app.

I download mostly TV show episodes and occasional movies.
Detects many different players, properly names files, works great!

I don't know how it works on youtube, since I don't use it on youtube.

This little gem sits up in my toolbar and when I want to download a video I just click on it and voila! it downloads with no problems. I have it set up to go directly to downloads helper and I can then access and file them wherever I need to. Love this little fellah, don't know how I got by without it.
