The reason for the one star is because this doesn't work. I get either a 1k or 0k file from it, making this useless. I don't know how others are getting any downloads.

The fact that it needs a companion app isn't an issue. The code is all open source, so anyone can look through it.

Since the app is not free anymore - any unlicensed (=not paid) copy will have a QR code in the top left corner - I am sorry not to be able to give a good rating. This addon *NEVER* should be a Mozilla Foundation's recommandation. Please change that.

I had this program on my pc and downloaded a bunch of videos using it. Just last night I noticed that entire external hard drive was missing. So I ran a check to see what happened to the partitions. Finally I was able to get them back however I noticed when I did a check and fix the program told me that all the videos I downloaded using this program were ALL CORRUPTED! I mean not one other video I had besides using this program were corrupted. DO NOT USE THIS PROGRAM YOU WILL SCREW UP YOUR COMPUTER BIG TIME!

Could someone be bothered to write one or two sentences about HOW TO USE downloadhelper! And no, the little video was worthless.

why is it crashing after i get the file download when it goes to adp a file. it says cant get info did google find a way to block you.

The "Video DownloadHelper" is only a way to make you download a separate stand alone executable which noone knows what it really does.
Firefox shouldnt allow "Video DownloadHelper" as an add-on because its NOT an ad-on since it relies not in Firefox itself but in other dark programs.
Shame on you Firefox for tricking users.

Does not catch anything from FranceTV (listed under "supported websites") beside an ever-expanding list of 20~700 kB MP4 files, all of which are unreadable.

Not working as well as before. Now tries to trick you into upgrading for $$ to get full functions.

It's an adware, quite propably dangerous. Every time I try to use it, it tries to redirect me to another website to download a "companion app" to execute the task the extension was supposed to do.
I've already reported it to Mozilla.
