Now, would I really rather not engage an external executable to do this task? Absolutely. But, this seems to fill the gap, at least until someone figures out an internal solution (involving tech stuff more advanced than the tiny bit of top-level scripting I've learned).

- As at this date on Firefox version 57 on Linux Mint 18.3, the updated "companion" is generally needed to download anything .ADP to combine vid and audio two streams. On Youtube it worked very well. A blue button appears whilst it's working. If you reload the download drop down menu and click on the blue button, the particular choice you made will have its progress shown in a window. By clicking on the right hand side arrows for entries, one can delete items to clean up the menu of choices. This is keeps things tidier. The extension keeps being advanced to match the twists and turns of Youtube designed to thwart downloading. Downloading and converting( like mp3 ) is a snap. Always wait a good 6 seconds for any video to be detected. On Ubuntu, Linux Mint and other Debian versions of Linux, the download process for the free and needed companion app is dead easy. If a day comes when the extension doesn't work..give the team a couple of weeks to make adjustments to Youtube's current dodge and you'll find it works again. I find it also works on the latest Firefox in Windows 10. Kudo's once more in its long history.
- The "Supported Sites" list is a joke. It is a list of sites where one version may have worked at one time in the past. It is not an updated, accurate, tested, or supported list of sites that work. Of course the list is impressive if any site that works even for one visit gets added then never removed when it does not work.
It is False Advertisement at best and fraud at worst. There are many sites that have been broken for 4 or more years. The response on the Google Group that is support channel for this is "something must have changed on the site" but no fixes most times. That is NOT supported. Both the Legacy XUL (6.3.3) and WebExtension (7.6.0) versions are broken on many of these sites and both version should have been fixed. Some of the sites were posted as far back as 5+ years ago; As such both versions should be fixed!
Don't advertise what you don't support, especially while asking people to PAY. - 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13809381, 8 年前mi permette di scaricare qualsiasi file video da quasi tutti i siti, scarica in poco tempo e mi da parecchie opzioni di conversione e di velocità di download

- Earlier today I saw a page informing me that the addon had been updated. After a while Firefox slows to a halt and I have to close it forcefully, but when I start it again it eats 1.5+ GB of RAM and hangs. I tried again and again, closing some recently-opened tabs, but with no luck.
After starting Firefox in safe-mode and disabling this extension, I managed to get the browser operational again.
Please look into it (nothing like this has ever happened to me before with earlier versions of this addon). I am using Firefox 58.0.2 on Ubuntu.
