They watermarked every video I've downloaded since the last update. I'm uninstalling it.

Lo estaba usando para descargar un vídeo de un curso online que estoy haciendo cuando me dí cuenta que a la hora de codificar el vídeo (cosa que hace el programa para poner una marca de agua en modo código QR) me dí cuenta de que el consumo de mi CPU era del 99-100% lo cual me parece exagerado, por lo que ho bien no está bien programado o lo más probrable, que usen mi cpu para minar criptomonedas a cambio de descargar el vídeo.

This is not even clearly mentioned and unless you will read some of these reviews and many complaints on the internet, you will not know what's going on in the background. Go google for the QR code block and other complaints on this extension. But there is more: This extension has an extremely annoying popup that not even firefox or addons such as uOrigin or others will be able to block, any time there is an update. IT is extremely annoying because it steals the focus of whatever you are watching, be it a full screen movie or your bank website, or if you are in the middle of a transaction or booking a flight, etc., the violent and frankly useless window jumps with some "Congratulations" message that will disrupt you and certainly cause rage in many cases. The message is actually quite stupid because nobody on the planet will believe that he/she deserves to be "congratulated" for some code update. If every code in the computer would "congratulate" you in such way, computers would have die long time ago: You have hundreds of thousands of files, libraries and applications --free or otherwise-- that get updated every single minute every day. Shame on this developer, this is the kind of developers that don't care for user experience and do not want to be transparent. Look for alternatives. youtube-dl is great and youtube-dl-gui is the perfect partner. And there are more.

I would enjoy this add-on more if the developer hadn't moved to blocking you from downloading high definition streams that are freely available from the source. If the stream is already in a high definition resolution, then don't automatically convert it, requiring the user to pay for your service to convert high definition. As an example, visit a streaming video site that offers any stream at 1920x1080 or greater. Attempt to download the file locally to your hard drive, via the extension or companion app, and the extension will begin "automatic conversion" which if you don't have their "premium service" will require you to purchase a license. There's no need for the developer to require this extension to automatically convert a stream that's already provided in high definition. To validate my claim, then use another download manager or application that will retrieve the stream. You can use VLC or youtube-dl, as examples, input the URL to the high definition stream and it will download it, which is what this extension should do but the developers are looking to get more over-priced license purchases for features that aren't needed unless the developer actually converted a stream for you because you needed it. However, you should be aware that if the original source media is not high definition, then you're not increasing the quality of the media by converting it to a higher resolution or bit-rate. Thumbs down to the developer for using this ridiculous tactic of "automatic conversions" for all high definition media.

Very bad interface

Lately there's been a change that adds a QR code overlaid on top of the downloaded video. The QR code only shows up on videos where the option to download is an ADP variant. The only option to get rid of the QR code on ADP variants is to buy a license. it wouldn't be such a problem if other formats where offered, but on many websites Video Doawnloader only offers the (now to be paid for) ADP variant.

não funcionar tentei baixar um anime em um site ele só baixar a parte que já foi carregada e fica dando opção de baixar as imagens do site poluindo a lista de download, achei o total lixo só tem pessoas usando mais não funcionar de verdade

This addon was the best one for years.
As usual developers get greedy after the addons gettings bigger and now the addon is a waste of time.

You are now forced to pay or you will get a QR code at ur video.

If you want to download videos with a QR embedded by this extension (and/or pay to the extension creator to remove the QR), then this is your extension.

IF you want the videos to be downloaded in their original form without ads, then do not use this extension.

Can't free download anymore. It is a commercial app now. You need to buy their download app.

requires registration otherwise adds a watermark, and depends on github which was recently purchased by microsoft and almost always down. avoid this crap.

I honestly loved this addon, because it worked well. It does even now - EXCEPT - now the creators are trying to force us to pay for the proper usage of the addon. I'm okay with the option to support the creator, but now we are literally forced to pay, otherwise there will be a huge QR code in the downloaded video, stating that "If you don't want that, then pay up". My problem is how we are forced to pay. So I suggest everyone not to pay, and instead search for a different addon, or application. This app was good, but every good thing must come to an end - because of human greed.
