VIN & Vehicle Lookup Helper does not collect any personal information about you. It does not collect your name, email, location, browsing history, or account details.

When you enter a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and click Decode, only that VIN is sent to the free public NHTSA vPIC database (vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov), operated by the U.S. Department of Transportation, so it can be decoded into vehicle specifications. This is the only network request the add-on makes and it is required for it to work.

Your five most recent VIN lookups are saved locally in your own browser using browser storage. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and can be cleared at any time using the Clear history button in the add-on.

We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, tracking, creditworthiness, or lending. We do not use it for any purpose unrelated to the add-on's single purpose.
