Open with Purify sends any YouTube video to purify.video, a clean front-end that plays YouTube videos without ads and without the surrounding clutter — no recommendations feed, no comments, no end-screen overlays.

Right-click a YouTube page or link and choose Open with Purify, use the toolbar button for the video in the current tab, or press Ctrl+Shift+Y. The add-on extracts the video ID and opens https://purify.video/watch?v=<id> directly.

Options (toolbar popup):
• Open in a new tab, next to the current one, and/or switch to it
• Close the original YouTube tab after opening
• Keep the start time (t=) of the original link
• Request autoplay
• Turn captions off automatically (on by default)
• Preferred playback quality — 360p to 2160p or Auto (default 1080p). If the requested resolution is not available for a video, the highest one below it is used.
• Show or hide the right-click menu entry

Please note: age-restricted videos (adult or otherwise flagged content) will not play on Purify, because YouTube requires age verification through a signed-in session. Such videos have to be watched on YouTube itself, signed in with an account that is not subject to the age restriction. This add-on does not bypass, and cannot bypass, any age check.

Privacy:
The add-on collects no data: your preferences are stored locally in your browser with storage.local and never leave your device.
