Privacy policy

Yochatto has no account, no server of its own, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. It does not collect, sell or share anything about you.


Kept on your device

Your settings, favorite emotes and collapsed sections are stored in your browser's extension storage. The settings panel's position and size are stored in Twitch's site storage in your browser.


Backups

Save to sync copies your setup to your browser account's sync storage, which your browser provider keeps like your other synced extension data. Export files and backup codes go only where you put them. Copy code writes to your clipboard only when you press it.


Requests to other sites

A few features load things from other sites. Like any web request, those sites see your IP address and basic browser details, under their own privacy policies:


• Third party emotes, off until you turn it on: emote lists from api.frankerfacez.com, api.betterttv.net and 7tv.io, and emote images from cdn.frankerfacez.com, cdn.betterttv.net and cdn.7tv.app. These requests include the name or id of the channel you are watching. When FrankerFaceZ does not know a channel, its id is looked up on gql.twitch.tv.
• Fonts: the settings page loads font previews from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Choosing a Google font for chat loads it on Twitch pages the same way.
• Links to this website, Ko-fi and Overlayer open only when you click them.

Bug reports

If you send a bug report, a feature request or a message from this website, we receive what you type in the form plus the details the extension prefilled and you chose to leave in: extension version, browser, and, for bug reports, your settings (opened from the extension, only the ones that differ from their defaults). Reports are stored in a database run for us by Neon on Vercel, are used only to fix the problem or weigh the request, and are not shared. Leave the contact field empty if you do not want a reply. To limit abuse, each report is stored with a one-way hash of the sending address; the address itself is not kept. Feature requests we take on can appear on the Requests page with their title and text only, never the contact details. Write to us through the same form to have a report removed.

Voting on the Requests page stores a random token in your browser's site storage so a vote can be taken back, and the same one-way hash of your address on the server. Neither identifies you.


Removing your data

Reset puts your settings back to their defaults. Removing the extension deletes what it stored in its extension storage. Clearing Twitch's site data removes the saved panel position.


Changes

This policy ships inside the extension, so any change arrives with an update and is noted in the changelog. This page is kept identical to it.


Permissions

• Storage: keeps your settings, favorites and backups.
• Twitch (twitch.tv): lets Yochatto restyle chat and add its features on Twitch. The only other page it runs on is the contact page at yochatto.com, where it fills in the report details for you.
  
  Moderation actions from the right-click menu (pin, reply, timeout and ban) are made by your own Twitch account, exactly as if you used Twitch's own buttons or chat commands.

Third party emotes

Third party emotes are made by their creators and hosted by BetterTTV, FrankerFaceZ and 7TV. Yochatto only displays them, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by those services. Each emote belongs to its creator.


Fonts

Chat fonts come from Google Fonts and are open source: most under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, a few under the Apache License 2.0 or the Ubuntu Font Licence. Thanks to their designers.

Yochatto is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Twitch Interactive, Inc. or Amazon. Twitch is a trademark of Twitch Interactive, Inc.

BetterTTV, FrankerFaceZ, 7TV, Google Fonts and the theme names above belong to their owners, and are named here only to say where things come from. The Chrome, Edge and Firefox logos on the install buttons belong to Google, Microsoft and Mozilla, and show only which browsers Yochatto runs in.
