Labrador Retriever Puppies: The breed, also known simply as Lab, originated in Newfoundland, Canada. It was developed in the early 19th century and recognized as a distinct breed in the middle of the 19th century. It was developed as a hunter and water retriever and is still used in that capacity even today.
