YouTube Transcript Copier adds a small button to the top-left of the
YouTube video player. Click it and the full transcript / closed captions of
the video are copied straight to your clipboard as clean plain text — ready
to paste into notes, a summarizer, a translator, or anywhere else.

Features
- One click, no page reload, no extra tabs
- Works with manual captions and auto-generated (ASR) captions
- Prefers a manually-written English track when available, falls back to any
available language
- Survives YouTube's single-page navigation (works after clicking to a new
video without reloading)
- Button stays out of the way — only appears on player hover

Privacy
This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or
browsing history. It only reads caption data directly from the YouTube page
you are already viewing, and writes the result to your local clipboard.
Nothing is sent to any third-party server.

Limitations
- Only works on videos that actually have captions (manual or
auto-generated). If a video has none, the button shows "No captions".
- Auto-generated (ASR) transcripts have no punctuation — that's a YouTube
limitation, not the extension.
