by Smarc, 9 years agoUpdated the extension to latest version and got confused if I switched to Chrome somehow - same handicapped UI that the extensions has there :/ No way to see what exactly has been blocked or what could be blocked (open block-able items) - instead I have a "nice and truly needed" (not!) feature of sharing the number of items blocked in the social media sites! A feature that is apparently so important that it's placed so that You will hit it by accident most likely :/ Switched back to old version almost immediately - as I haven't switched to Firefox 57 yet.
Have been using and enjoining the extension for many years though - thanks for the authors :) I just hoped that at least some extensions ported to WebExtensions would remain usable :/ All-in-all, blame goes to Mozilla I suppose.

Other ad blockers have enough common sense not to CAUSE THEIR OWN POP-UP ADS. When good ad blockers like uBlock Origin update, they do it quietly without bothering the user. The people at ABP thought you wouldn't mind annoying adverts if it was from them. Advertising to me a product I already have installed is a sure sign these people do not respect users time.

posted a month agoWe appreciate your feedback. We use a system called smart allowlisting: if you do not visit a website that you have allowlisted within 7 days, it gets automatically removed from your allowlisted websites. If you visit it in 7 days, it will get renewed for another 7 days.

Nor on Yahoo.com. at least not on my computer.
