Until web-developers figure out how to stop ads from slowing down a site this is the best alternative. It also seems to block some of those "cry-baby nag" screens some sites pop-up to complain about your using an ad-blocker. If ads would behave themselves, people would not need to use blockers. We are inundated with advertising junk all the time. From junk-calls to junk-mail. This at least keep this crap off of our PC when we use the web. Thank you to the coders who work on this.
