https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1617861
https://pontoon.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/all-resources/?string=176403
https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Permissions#access-ip-address-and-hostname-information
https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock-issues/issues/780
https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock-issues/issues/911
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1618271
Reddit:

When any software becomes popular, there rises a question on it's ethics related to it's users. uBlock Origin does not access your host's IP - dns API only allows to resolve domain names using your DNS, but firefox seems to mislead users on that matter showing confusing prompts:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1617861
Before you stop using uBlock Origin and write negative review on IP permissions issue, please spare some of your time to read what developer tells about this:
https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Permissions#access-ip-address-and-hostname-information
https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock-issues/issues/780
In theory, everything can damage your anonimity, but it seems there's no need to worry too much on that case.
But if you use SOCKS5 and care about DNS leaking, check those threads:
https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock-issues/issues/911
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1618271
I hope developers are really just trying to make another way of tracking people impossible. While firefox/extension developers should fix possibility of local DNS leaks.
BTW, you can disable this feature: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Advanced-settings#cnameuncloak

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19396922, 3 days agoFinally, the best ad blocker. Which not go to the ads provider to gain some money by showing some ads (ad block+, and their ad blockers). Open-source, and extremely efficient in ram/cpu use. At the end, ubo let to the network usage to be lower, even I live in israel where the connection price is extremely low, and limits very high (if have), I prefer to be with lowest network usage that I can in one side and in other to be able to navigate the web without ads.
