I tried loads of themes and this was the only one I found that was:

-Dark enough to be easy on the eyes,
-Contrasty enough to make the selected tab clear without needing ugly borders
-Distinctive enough to stand out from most sites generic dark schemes
-Generally understated but aesthetically pleasing.

In short, my new default :-)
