- Rated 5 out of 5by zososfo, 7 years agoSo far so quiet. Thank you!! It's not clear to me why anyone would _want_ audio ads, etc. upon opening a tab (unless it was a music site, or something like that). Anyway, AutoMute seems to work perfectly with the latest version of Firefox. Where do I send $$?

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13730581, 7 years agoI use this addon with chrome and love it. I am trying to switch to firefox and am glad to see this addon here. I have an issue that may not seem extreme but I just want to throw it out there. I have the setting in about:config titled browser.tabs.showAudioPlayingIco disabled so I don't accidentally click the speaker icon and unmute a tab. I sometimes have a bunch of tabs open and would possibly hit the unmute button and be jolted with sound. Would it be possible for the additional option to disable the addon from adding the speaker/mute icon. I tested with and without the addon enabled, on regular tabs the icon shows itself when automute is enabled and disappears when it is disabled.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13785629, 7 years agoI like this addon more than the alternatives because of several reasons:
1. You can Mute and unmute a specific tab
2. You can mute every tab at once
3. You can Whitelist pages
I also used the chrome version(before i switched to firefox quantum) and i loved it there as well, the addon is really simple to use - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12553415, 7 years agoWorks just as I wanted it to do. Whitelisting works pretty good and helps me prevent those crazy autoplaying videos from playing audio.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Chriszuma, 8 years agoI've been using the Chrome version of this add-on for months, and I'm so excited the developer ported it to Firefox! This is my second favorite add-on right behind uBlock. It's such a simple effective feature that I wish all browsers were built with it.
All tabs remain muted unless the domain is explicitly whitelisted. No more clicking on a Popular Science or local news article only to have a video start blaring unexpectedly.
Other "Mute All" add-ons don't have a whitelist, so you always have to un-mute Youtube or whatever. 6/5 would definitely recommend.
