by -, 6 years agoit's very good. It's modern. It's almost perfect.
not very comfy? here's why:
1) CtrlShitL doesnt open popup with close alternatives. It should DO something each time (when no match found). Who wants to press 2 kbd combinations?
2) popup is not kbd friendly - takes 3 TABs to get to the first item. Also Down key won't make it.
3) Wont hit Enter for me for a True Autofill.
4) Right click menu is way too complicated (so many levels, unfortunately some plugins think it's cool). I vote for zero sublevels. If it's complex i'd expect it to offer some data there (ordered by similarity).
5) Search..have some items visible. Click on details and go back, the search is gone. Search.. click to check another item. Go back, search is gone. Search. Enpass-like error
6) You have password for similar web, e.g. a different hostname on LAN. You have to search it. But you can't submit credentials to existing web - it will load a new tab with URL you don't want. Damn. You need to copy paste each item.
7) Credit card field identification in foreign languages is poor
8) Desktop app is pretty useless. It's a render with less functions and like other apps, won't fill anything in Windows. Makes me wonder why these apps exist. Oh wait, they either bring better management (not needed here) OR they bring global kbd shortcut (missing here) :)
9) Add/update password bar is very rare to see..

After updating the Bitwarden Firefox extension to version 2026.7.0, the vault remains stuck on the loading placeholders and no items are displayed.
Going back to 2026.6.1 fixes it. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13539882, a day agoTo those come here for a broken update: I updated vaultwarden to 1.37.0 and resynced it's working now.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 20055573, 2 days agoThe extension not working on the newest version is not a problem with bitwarden itself but with the selfhosted vault.
So nothing to complain, great extension and so grateful that selfhosted is supported. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 19922097, 3 days ago2026.7.0 не работает со старым Vaultwarden. Обновил Vaultwarden до актуальной версии, работает.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Derp, 3 days agoYou broke it. Newest version get stuck loading the vault and is blank. Can't use it now. Self-hosted. Desktop app and web interface work fine, so I know it's this plugin.

Version 2026.70 is broken. Does not load passwords on self-hosted - Rated 5 out of 5by happy, 3 days agoSince the latest update 2026.7.0, it no longer loads my vault...

- Rated 2 out of 5by pandazorus, 6 days agoThe good:
- does what it says
- cross-platform sync works well most of the time
- free tier more than enough for most use cases
- open source + self-hosting options
The bad:
- the UX is bad and inconsistent, and hasn't improved for years. you get sort of used to it
- serious performance issues with some "dynamic" pages (home assistant in my case)
- was recently bought out by a private equity firm - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18996315, 6 days agoWorks most of the times. But then once in a while it just doesnt save / sync or whatever. Signing in from new PC and some passwords have suddenly vanished. They are on mobile. Updating password on mobile still doesnt update on PC. Relogging doesnt work...
Logging out, reinstalling and logging in, fixed it temporarily. In the middle of a session, the plugin removed itself. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 20047461, 7 days agoThe idea behind bitwarden is good, but their understanding of user experience is horrible. They don't listen to community and they spend time and money to worsen their product. It's fcked beond repair.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14600166, 8 days agoI recently noticed that whenever I do video playback the corresponding tab will spike to 60% CPU usage (in a single CPU thread) and doing profiler in Firefox's process manager clearly shows that Bitwarden (requestIdleCallback handler) causes this.
Disable the extension and refresh video website solves the issue for me.
