Privacy policy for Boost for Personio
Boost for Personio is a browser extension for the Personio time tracking. It is independent and not affiliated with Personio. This policy covers the extension in Firefox, Chrome and Edge.
In short: the extension sends no data to the developer or to third parties. There is no telemetry, no analytics and no advertising.
What the extension stores in the browser
– Settings, favourite projects, assignments and comment templates.
– The project list from Personio and the most recently loaded Jira tickets (key and summary), so that suggestions appear at once.
– Jira connections: name, address of the Jira instance, for Jira Cloud the e-mail address, and the API token. The token is stored encrypted in the browser.
– An event log of the extension, for example whether a Jira sync succeeded.
All of this stays in the extension's storage in your browser and is not synced.
What the extension transmits
– To Personio: the extension works on the Personio page you opened and queries Personio with your existing browser session, for example for the project list. This data only travels between your browser and Personio.
– To Jira: the API token and, for Jira Cloud, the e-mail address go only to the Jira instance you enter yourself, and for Jira Cloud tokens with scopes to Atlassian's gateway api.atlassian.com. The extension fetches the tickets that match your assignments.
– Nothing else leaves the browser.
Backup
The "Backup" feature writes your settings to a file that you save yourself. The file contains tokens only if you set a password, and then encrypted with it.
Deletion
– Deleting a Jira connection removes its token and gives back the access to the Jira host.
– Removing the extension deletes everything it has stored.
Changes
If what the extension stores or transmits changes, this policy is updated with the new version.
