Do not blame the author .. blame those that developed Quantum. They favour the need for speed as opposed to HOW the browser is used. I doubt very much that they even looked at how folks used the browser in conjunction with the best add ons. BOOO to Firefox makers which has made the addon virtually impossible to use.

Oh .. with the automatic downloads they kidnapped loads of unsuspecting punters giving them no choice .. but you can revert to an older version of Firefox (ESR) which will have security updates. The more that do it .. the more they will see they need to work on API.

You could also try waterfox which allows the use of Colourful tabs. For a lot of long term users its function over electric speed. Colourful tabs Version 31.2.2 works with waterfox.

Thanks for standing by me moemoff. Most users here think ColorfulTabs is to blame even though we coded it straight in 24 hours and had something working for Firefox Quantum 57.

    Best add-on ever. It's so essential.

    Read Bug 1320585 on Bugzilla. OMG, why don't they implement tab colouring??? They even locked comments on that bug after they saw that so many people would love to have tab colours. Why do they hate users so much?

    It's nice to have at least that current workaround with ColorfulTabs. I needed the original XUL addon so much, that I actually extended it to have C&P functionality.

    IMO, tab colour should not be left to addon developers, but should be a HTML meta property like: . It belongs to the same place as favicons. It's weird that you can set a favicon in HTML, but not a background to it. The first one is totally normal – the second a sacrilege? This way it would be as easy as CSS to overide the tab colour with a user or extension set colour.

    It was useless 3 years ago, and it's useless today !

    All the tabs remain the same colour UNLESS you click on one of them !!!!!!!

    The Extension SHOULD colour all tabs at the top of the screen a different colour, because by default they are all white. But it doesn't.

    I have not been able to get more than 1 tab colored and that one is the open tab. I would love to have my tab colors back

    It used to work now I cant get it to work. It used to work was a great addon when you have many open windows in multi-row especially although for that you have to use Floorp Firefox based browser.

    Can developer PLEASE EXPLAIN why this add-on required "Access your data for all websites" permission? That sounds like an EXTREME SECURITY RISK, for an unknown use or benefit.
