- Rated 5 out of 5by R.K. Devere, a year agoShame it doesn't work any more but there is an excellent alternative Universal Automatic Currency Converter https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/ua-currency-converter/

it seems that the default setting of updating does not automatically update the plugin.
so you have to remove it and install it again to implement the latest update - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12287796, 4 years agoVery quick no-frills currency conversion app. Simple yet the best.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Takkia, 4 years agoAgree with previous - worked great up until a few days ago. Now it's just "loading..." with spinning wheel and then it gets timeout.
I loved this add on, please make it work again. :/
Edit: Thank you so much! After update it's working lovely! :)Developer response
posted 4 years agoThanks. I am aware of the issue, its caused by the API provider going offline. Am updating the extension to use a different API shortly. - Rated 5 out of 5by Patrick Humphreys, 4 years agoEDIT: Developer has now updated the add-on and everything is working fine.
I particularly like this currency converter compared to the other ones available. The design is very simple, efficient and intuitive. The other ones available are very awkward to use in comparison.
If you are looking for a currency converter add-on, I would highly recommend you get this one and ignore all the others.Developer response

posted 5 years agoTry removing and reinstalling the add-on. There are still people using the old version which uses the old API source which is rate limited. Current version is 0.6.6- Rated 5 out of 5by Arno Teigseth, 5 years agoworked great for a long time, until openrates.io was bought(?) by exchangeratesapi.io - fix is to change background.js api url to 'http://api.exchangeratesapi.io/v1/latest?access_key='
…and WITHOUT the "&base=USD" part - that did not work and threw 'restricted base' and seems unnecessary.
Not really developer's fault :) rest of plugin seems to work just great!
I built and installed it with "temporary" in about:debugging
Writing here since I don't know how to contact you, LiabilityMan :)
There probably should be a field in plugin settings to include your api key though... - Rated 5 out of 5by Сергей, 5 years ago
