Reviews for Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express
Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express by Dishita
Review by Jay Versluis
Rated 4 out of 5
by Jay Versluis, 6 years agoA superb and easy way to download YouTube videos in full HD at 1080p, where other solutions fail. If you've used the free version, you know how well this system works. With the Pro version (unlocked with a one-off donation), the audio and video appears to be extracted separately, then mixed together on Dishita's server. As soon as this is done, a download option will appear.
Sometimes this step doesn't always work the first time, but simply pressing that green download button again will usually make it happen. I do live streams on YouTube, and I frequently forget to record the clips locally - hence this is an excellent tool to preserve my data for local archiving if I don't have a copy. It's also nice to turn YouTube videos into audio streams for a "podcast listening" experience, or to watch footage when an internet connection is not available.
One small issue I've noticed is that the downloaded clips are our of sync, at least in 1080p (the audio advances video by about 6 frames or 240ms). For me that's not a big issue because I tend to top and tail my footage once downloaded, nevertheless it is slightly annoying having to rectify this in post production. When I contacted Dishita about this issue, all I got was a dismissive brush off, saying that it's not an issue, and a request to please write a review here. That's a slightly sad customer experience in my opinion. I appreciate all the hard work that's gone into this project, but a developer asks users to report issues, and then doesn't acknowledge or look into them, I'm a little confused.
4 stars for this product, I highly recommend it. To make it 5 seas, I'd like to see a better support experience (a "thank you for your donation" would go a long way), and for the sync issue to be fixed.
