Reviews for Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express
Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express by Dishita

by qk, 5 years agoA decent tool. Works as stated. The UI is attractive and effective. Been using it daily for 4 years.
I don't pay for the pro service. That service uses an external server. I chose this tool specifically because I want to download without going through such a server.
The tool is unavoidably imperfect because it must defeat YouTube restrictions.
Without pro service, the tool can download almost all videos at 360p. Sometimes, it can download at 720p too (480p isn't an option). As far as I can tell, the tool loses the ability to download at 720p if a video is popular. This occurs somewhere above 100k views but sometimes you get lucky with a popular video. In the drop-down menu, if the tool doesn't display the video's file size, then it cannot download that video at that resolution. If you click it anyway, the tool goes through the motions but the file doesn't arrive.
A pro subscription provides access to an external server, which works around YouTube's encoding of higher resolutions.
Periodically, YouTube's website layout changes, causing the tool to cease working (the button disappears altogether or the dropdown menu lists no file sizes at either resolution, and downloads don't work). This cannot be helped, since YouTube has no desire to facilitate downloading. When YouTube changes (about once a year) we all simply wait for Dishita to code around the changes.
I appreciate the work that went into developing this add-on. Dishita, thank you for writing it and thank you and for maintaining it, as YouTube evolves.

- Rated 4 out of 5by JPJPJP, 2 hours agoI love this downloader. It's excellent. But lately, it won't download certain videos. It say it does, but it's not downloaded on your computer and you can't open with media player.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Vista, 3 hours agoPurchased the license but it doesn't work. It shows the download progress to 100% but generates two zero byte files. At least be honest and show an error message instead of wasting users' time.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Manila-D, 2 days agoThere was a time when this downloader was the best of the best. That sadly is no longer the case. The developer was hawking a paid downloader but as I understand it it doesn't or hasn't worked for awhile. As for the recent most 5 star reviews singing its praises, I'm skeptical if they're genuine...
I know the developer has put a-lot of effort into this add-on, and I wish I could give it a 5 star rating but in its present state I can't
Let me be clear that I'm talking about the add-on version NOT the paid version. I only speak of the paid version based on the experience those that have bought it have had, several of who are longtime friends of mine...
If the developer fixes the free version and it works, then I'll change my review accordingly...
As of this date 01/25/2026 none of the other YouTube down-loaders appear to be working either...
It seems YouTube has gone full on nuclear to break these down-loaders...
Someone will come along with one they can't break. It's only a matter of when... - Rated 1 out of 5by JazzDad, 2 days agoStopped working a while ago. Generates two files, each with 0 bytes.
