I wish it was possible to download the videos in the background, i.e., even if the video tab were to be closed. Also, playlist support would be nice, or even better maybe to be able to download a video without having to click it open, from the menu options would be unintrusive. - Rated 5 out of 5by Christoph, 2 days ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 19482449, 2 days agoMy linux PC is pretty old, and it took a while, but this extension was able to convert and save a 35 minute instructional YouTube video to a small mp4 format. It worked well, but I had to scroll down to below the video to see the progress this extension was making in conversion and saving.
There is one bug - if I click on another YouTube video in the same window, and try to convert and save that video, it doesn't -- instead it downloads, converts and saves the original video I viewed in that window, making another copy of it.
It seems like I have to close FireFox before trying to download another video. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19482265, 2 days ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by Shoal Creek, 2 days agoI also have the Video Download Helper extension with the local helper app installed. This add-on succeeded on youtube when that one failed. I will likely keep it and just have it disabled until I need it, but it seems to work.
EDIT: Disabling it makes it clutter up the youtube page even more. The button spot turns into a bunch of html links to the videos. 4 Stars for it working when others failed, -1 star for it not fully disabling. I ended up removing it as it seems to be sketchy at this point. - Rated 5 out of 5by Brian Jefferson, 2 days ago
