I just saved a funeral video of someone I knew because sometimes churches don't keep them up very long and I might like to see parts of the funeral again.
This app is super easy to use and explains the process well. The developer is also very open about issues and limitations of the app, which has to be adjusted to fit with YouTube. I see many 1-star ratings, some of which complain that the "Download" button is missing. This was a temporary issue from YouTube making a code change. The download button is back. All this and more information is available on the app page, where the developer puts updates and alerts. Through all of this issue, the developer has been sharing updates and instructions for workarounds.
Another aspect of this app people have seen has been that the highest-quality downloads are no longer available for free subscribers. The developer has explained that they have to use their own servers to get those downloads to work (you can get the technical info from the app site), which costs money, so they have set up a premium membership that provides those high-quality downloads such as full HD. The developer suggests $30 as a donation, but there's a slider you can use to change the amount if you want. I was thinking about getting premium when I get a new computer with more space and less problems downloading large files!
I'm really happy having a bunch of downloads that I can watch anywhere without internet glitches (my internet sucks). I can take a laptop and show my elderly mom a play without the buffering circle. I can easily download my granddaughter's only high school choir solo and her pandemic graduation videos. The process is smooth and easy. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13926650, 4 years ago

I am still getting random no-button happening, so far it only seems to affect larger videos that were uploaded today (this has NOT happened prior to this latest round of grief).
This is with the development version.
PS: The feature that makes a video load in paused mode is also broken on the videos that lack the button. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13561640, 4 years agoEvery now and then you want to keep a video that you see on YouTube and there really is no way to do this using YouTube. This add-on allows you to save those videos that you would like to access later. I find it helpful because I don't have to try and find them on YouTube again. And if for some reason my Internet connection isn't working I still have access to the videos on my computer.

- Rated 5 out of 5by WillyWonkaChocolates, 4 years agoI've been using a lot of video downloaders over the years but for me this one has been great. It has performed almost flawlessly. There are occasional instances where a video is unable to download but it's very few. I really enjoy this tool. The developer stays on top of updates which is also very impressive. I glad I found this.

If I screw it up, help is always available. I do yearly donations to help a dedicated man with a free app. So much enjoyment I have had using this app for so few dollars (A nice meal out, desert and a few drinks). Try it, you will love it too.

- Rated 5 out of 5by SteveI46, 4 years agoThis is a great Mozilla Add-On. I have downloaded many videos in the last 15 months, even 1080p Full-HD ones (before payment was required it). Wish payment wasn't required for it, but, You Tube doesn't really want to cooperate, and, as the originator of the add-on says, "This all is a 'single man job' and I am the only one manning everything from coding, publishing, website, support and debugging." I especially like the built-in download button - keeps me from having to scroll down to access You Tube's button that's below the video frame. He is working hard to keep up with the ever-changing Big-Tech "Masters of the Universe" and their ever-changing plans. Keep using the add-on and be patient with him as he upgrades it and then informs you personally of his progress. Send him at least a cup of coffee.
