- Rated 4 out of 5by Jay Versluis, 6 years agoA superb and easy way to download YouTube videos in full HD at 1080p, where other solutions fail. If you've used the free version, you know how well this system works. With the Pro version (unlocked with a one-off donation), the audio and video appears to be extracted separately, then mixed together on Dishita's server. As soon as this is done, a download option will appear.
Sometimes this step doesn't always work the first time, but simply pressing that green download button again will usually make it happen. I do live streams on YouTube, and I frequently forget to record the clips locally - hence this is an excellent tool to preserve my data for local archiving if I don't have a copy. It's also nice to turn YouTube videos into audio streams for a "podcast listening" experience, or to watch footage when an internet connection is not available.
One small issue I've noticed is that the downloaded clips are our of sync, at least in 1080p (the audio advances video by about 6 frames or 240ms). For me that's not a big issue because I tend to top and tail my footage once downloaded, nevertheless it is slightly annoying having to rectify this in post production. When I contacted Dishita about this issue, all I got was a dismissive brush off, saying that it's not an issue, and a request to please write a review here. That's a slightly sad customer experience in my opinion. I appreciate all the hard work that's gone into this project, but a developer asks users to report issues, and then doesn't acknowledge or look into them, I'm a little confused.
4 stars for this product, I highly recommend it. To make it 5 seas, I'd like to see a better support experience (a "thank you for your donation" would go a long way), and for the sync issue to be fixed. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14618189, 6 years ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Jason4V, 6 years agoCompared to lots of downloader, I think it's best youtube video downloader extension of Firefox yet, much simpler than Video DownloadHelper.
If it add new feature like local conversion for 1080p & bookmarklet addon, I will give it five stars and pay for use - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14576756, 6 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12367481, 6 years agoThis add-on seems to keep up to date on a regular basis even when Youtube seems to change it's mind every week & changes things. Rarely is it inop. The 1 thing that prevents me giving it 5 stars is that at one time the download speeds of the smaller 3gp files use to download As Fast as the regular MP4 downloads. Now they drip through under a 100Kbs but that may have nothing to do with the add-on, I'm not really sure. I just miss the faster downloads we enjoyed before on those smaller files. I would like to see the other 3gp file size [240p] offered as well like some other add-ons offer. All in all, I didn't mind donating money to get the more restrictive downloads of of the MP3 files due to youtoob which changes its mind every week on how it works & what it takes away. Good support - thanks

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12301774, 6 years agoWas using another downloader which unaccountably started creating files unreadable by WMP, VLC, you name it...
Installed this and it worked first time with no fiddling around digging for codecs etc; very impressed so far! - Rated 4 out of 5by Namu, 6 years agoI've used other youtube downloader extensions and this one does seem to earn its #1 rating. This one is self-contained (no other extensions or converter programs necessary) and works as advertised with some nitpicks. The download button does not show up when viewing videos in a playlist. It would also be nice to have an alternative to the download button in the menu bar (in case youtube does another sneaky interface update). The extension's built-in description in the add-on manager is a little messy and could be made to look more professional (as appropriate for such a useful extension). Although there are other downloaders that can work with sites other than youtube, I don't mind this one working well with just youtube.
