- Rated 1 out of 5by koma312, 6 months agoIt absolutely doesn't work for me. It only downloads an HLS playlist file in M3U8 format not the actual video. Unless you pay them AT LEAST $10 which is NOT "donating any amount you want".. There are other free extensions out there.

posted 14 days agoHi koma312! Downloading an M3U8 playlist instead of the actual video — that's a real issue, and the $10 minimum is not how it should work. Version 24.1 fixes the download format so you get actual video files, and donation is truly optional. Give it a try! 😊 - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19484000, 6 months ago

posted 14 days agoHey! YouTube Shorts have a slightly different URL format which caused issues. Version 24.1 adds better support for Shorts downloads. Update and give it a try on Shorts! 😊- Rated 1 out of 5by PP, 6 months agoWorks for now, no watermarks like VideoDownloadHelper. Will update review if anything mishaps occur
EDIT 1.31.26 (4 months later): Stopped working. Downloads 2 files and both are 0 bytes. On youtube page it says Download Status (red circle) and below that it says Download completed successfully! All video segments downloaded. Starting video processing..
Download COmpleted! File saved successfully
lol yeaaa... 0 bytes filesDeveloper response
posted 14 days agoHi PP! It worked well at first and then suddenly 2 files both 0 bytes with a fake "completed successfully" message — that's the exact bug we fixed in version 24.1. Please update and it should actually process and save your video properly this time. If it works, we'd love an updated review! 🙏 - Rated 1 out of 5by Carter, 6 months agoThe download button doesnt appear on youtube and the green folder icon doesn't show any videos, even after leaving it on for 5 mins. This is not a product I can recommend to anyone

posted 14 days agoHi Carter! No download button and empty folder icon — that sounds like a display/loading issue. Version 24.1 fixes this. After updating, the button should appear on YouTube pages and the folder should populate with your downloads. Give it a try! 😊 - Rated 5 out of 5by GuillaumeZITTA, 6 months ago

posted 14 days agoHa! YouTube's changes have been a real pain for everyone. But we've caught up with them in version 24.1 — it works again! Give it an update and try downloading. 😄- Rated 5 out of 5by itscool, 6 months agoFeedback-
I wish it was possible to download the videos in the background, i.e., even if the video tab were to be closed. Also, playlist support would be nice, or even better maybe to be able to download a video without having to click it open, from the menu options would be unintrusive. - Rated 5 out of 5by Christoph, 6 months ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 19482449, 6 months agoMy linux PC is pretty old, and it took a while, but this extension was able to convert and save a 35 minute instructional YouTube video to a small mp4 format. It worked well, but I had to scroll down to below the video to see the progress this extension was making in conversion and saving.
There is one bug - if I click on another YouTube video in the same window, and try to convert and save that video, it doesn't -- instead it downloads, converts and saves the original video I viewed in that window, making another copy of it.
It seems like I have to close FireFox before trying to download another video. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19482265, 6 months ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by Shoal Creek, 6 months agoI also have the Video Download Helper extension with the local helper app installed. This add-on succeeded on youtube when that one failed. I will likely keep it and just have it disabled until I need it, but it seems to work.
EDIT: Disabling it makes it clutter up the youtube page even more. The button spot turns into a bunch of html links to the videos. 4 Stars for it working when others failed, -1 star for it not fully disabling. I ended up removing it as it seems to be sketchy at this point. - Rated 5 out of 5by Brian Jefferson, 6 months ago

Developer response
posted 14 days agoHi! Getting German, Chinese, or French when you want English is super frustrating — that's a language track selection bug. Version 24.1 improves audio/language track selection so you should get English by default. Update and give it a try! 😊 - Rated 5 out of 5by LexusSmith, 6 months ago
