- Rated 4 out of 5by Say my name, 2 years agothe Extension is a must have for everyone using YouTube, one thing to mention the Extension doesn't load properly all the times I'm using a FireFox fork, found people online complaining about the same thing, hope the dev addresses this issue in the NEXT update
Edit: a turn around fix that I use for now is a costume script
first install the Tampermonkey extension
second use this costume script(dont forget to edit the youtube and tampermonkey links):
// ==UserScript==
// @name Force Enhancer for YouTube
// @namespace past tampermonkey link here/
// @version 0.1
// @description Ensure Enhancer for YouTube loads consistently
// @author You
// @match past youtube link here /*
// @grant none
// ==/UserScript==
(function() {
'use strict';
// Function to check if Enhancer for YouTube is loaded
function checkEnhancerYouTube() {
// Look for specific elements that Enhancer for YouTube creates
const enhancerLoaded = document.querySelector('#enhancer-for-youtube-controls') ||
document.querySelector('[id^="enhancer-for-youtube"]');
if (!enhancerLoaded) {
console.log('Enhancer for YouTube not detected, forcing reload...');
// Create a temporary element to trigger mutation observers
const trigger = document.createElement('div');
trigger.id = 'enhancer-youtube-trigger';
trigger.style.display = 'none';
document.body.appendChild(trigger);
// Dispatch events that might wake up the extension
window.dispatchEvent(new Event('resize'));
document.dispatchEvent(new Event('readystatechange'));
// Clean up and try again
setTimeout(() => {
trigger.remove();
checkEnhancerYouTube();
}, 2000);
}
}
// Run after YouTube has loaded
if (document.readyState === 'complete') {
setTimeout(checkEnhancerYouTube, 3000);
} else {
window.addEventListener('load', () => {
setTimeout(checkEnhancerYouTube, 3000);
});
}
})(); - Rated 4 out of 5by miha, 2 years agoIf you open the comments section while watching a short, the video and the comments section will overlap.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Lasse, 2 years agoVery convenient add-on that makes YouTube better. Too bad the devs abandoned it, but for me 2.0.130.1 still works well.
I'm very glad that they added a "Custom Script" area in the Settings, as I wanted a function where I can scrub the timeline using the mouse wheel. GPT wrote me a script and it worked perfectly! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13659618, 2 years agoWorks very well on Firefox ! On chrome, it has some issues with the 'Expand' button

- Rated 4 out of 5by Bruno, 2 years agoCould be 5 stars if it worked 100% of the time, sometimes it just vanishes, out of nowhere, but when it comes back it's wonderful, try it.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18784921, 2 years agoEverything is cool, just a shame that support for this browser extension has ended (at least that's how I see it 😐). At least, I hope it will be continue. Because without this extension, browsing YouTube is slow and boring.

Developer Says;
Extension v2.0.* randomly working in background tabs?! Controls not visible on page load?!
I know... No need to report these issues again and again, I have never been able to reproduce them...
The only way to fix them was to rewrite everything from scratch to create the version 3.0, and after months of hard work it is now available for Chrome and Edge so install it on those browsers because the version 3 will only be available for Firefox if Mozilla changes its review process because after more than 12 years publishing my extension on AMO there are things that I don't accept anymore! - Rated 4 out of 5by CoryMahler, 2 years agoIt's great, but for some reason it doesn't always load anymore. I have to hard-refresh a couple times before it works again (i'm watching for the control buttons). when it does load correctly, it's great.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Joseph Berger, 2 years agoI've had the extension for some time now and just getting around to really playing with it. Seems to work very well for some of its features but for others I can't seem to get them to work, meaning if for example there is a keyboard shortcut to have YouTube do XYZ when I use that shortcut nothing happens. This is not for just one feature either nor is it a dead key on my keyboard. Another weird thing is it will often just "turn itself off" meaning out of no where and for no reason I can find the control bar will just disappear from Firefox around the YouTube player window. Then I will have to click around turning it on and off, enabling and disabling the extension even uninstalling it then reinstalling it (having the export of the settings as a backup makes this a lot less annoying after the first couple of times once I realized there was a backup and doing that would make this troubleshooting step hell of a lot less annoying.) Anyways - overall it has some awesome settings and features especially the quick list of shortcuts which makes life so much easier.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18712767, 2 years agowas really solid. last update messed up how the playback speed persists from video to video in a queue, now it resets to 1x every time unless setting it explicitly in this extension.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Gwen Æther, 2 years agoThe extension works, but the control bar beneath the video doesn't load. I know that it's working because when I hold ctrl+scroll it changes the video speed, but I can't see the value being changed. There is also the recent conflict with SponsorBlock, it's like 30/70% on weather or not sponsor block actually works. At least the sponsor segment is still highlighted in the timeline so skipping past it manually is easy.
Another thing, in the past when I'd set the video speed, usually to 2.5x or 3x, it would persist between videos in the same tab, but now it resets every single video which is rather annoying.
