- Rated 1 out of 5by Mizuki, a year agoUsed to work fairly well, now refuses to work without payment and wants access to information about every website you visit.
Use Ublock instead - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18133773, a year ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by MisterOwl, a year agoI've been using the extension with Chrome and Vivaldi. It's been working very well. The quick pauses as the extension does its work are usually so short that I barely notice them. Maybe once per day, I'll see the first full second of an ad.
Accepting ads and keeping them out of the user's way is an elegant solution to the problem. I hope the developers can keep the extension working as intended.Developer response
posted a year agoPlease upgrade the extension to v2.1 (Chrome) so as to lower the frequency of the donation popups, they were fixed not to be incessant. - Rated 5 out of 5by kazumi111, a year ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by VoltageEfflux, a year agoAdblocker that advertises to you and the developer doesn't see the irony in this and decided to cancel support after the next update because not enough people purchased something that they installed specifically to avoid paying for a service; Proving their hesitance to pay was justified due to the lack of guaranteed support in the future.
(By the way, you may want to remove that soon, because it's literally an option that's able to be selected when reporting an add-on to Mozilla: "It contains spam or inserts unwanted advertising Example: Insert ads on webpages"
The use of overlaying a payment window also isn't stated in the add-on description, it simply states that the add on "uses extensionpay.com as a payment processor integrated with Stripe for obtaining a one-time lifetime license after an initial free trial period", no where does this state that the add-on will be overlaying this by force; this violates the "No surprises" Mozilla Add-on Policy which specifies "Users should be able to easily discern what the functionality of your add-on is and should not be presented with unexpected user experiences after installing it." ) - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18135464, a year ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by ARandomPerson, a year agoslows down the entire browser. Even firefox gives warning; that the extension is slowing down the browser. Very poorly optimized.

posted a year agoIt's the problem with YouTube injecting a ton of useless DOM elements which FadBlock has to go through. The lag stabilises after a while and YouTube starts working smoothly.
I am working on targeting the skip button more accurately to increase the performance. Still, it will be delayed a bit as there are higher-priority issues coming in the next update. - Rated 1 out of 5by Carlos, a year ago

posted a year agoIt won't. Just "cancel" and reload the tab.
Also, by 'soon', do you mean after 500 ads (if you're an existing user)?- Rated 5 out of 5by Luis, a year ago
- Rated 2 out of 5by Keith, a year agoUsed to work, but sneakily making it closed source and adding code for payment is sleazy. If you wanted a way for people to thank you, just have a button that takes you to patreon, paypal, or of ko-fi for an optional donation.

posted a year agoThe upgrade was hastily put and the current limit is 3 not just the one. And I have already increased the limit to 50 and submitted it to the store.
A new upgrade has already been submitted but it'll take the dev team a day or two to give it the green light and roll out the new version.
Seems like people don't even want to make a one-time contribution, I will be discontinuing the support and will be not replying to threads after the next update. - Rated 1 out of 5by Winterblue, a year agoStarts asking for money which completely defeats the point.

Worked up until I got a popup asking me to upgrade to the pro version. When I said no, the adblocker "mysteriously" stopped working.
I REALLY wish this wasn't the only method of getting around Youtube's bs.Developer response
posted a year agoJust reload the extension and it will start working again, it's a bug.
But, I understand your concern and have made the requested changes.

So far, I have not received any messages telling me to disable ad-blocking protection.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14330609, a year agoUse with FIREFOX, if the operation does not become slow, 5 stars
Good luck! I'm rooting for you. - Rated 1 out of 5by skyline555, a year agoRubbish. Didn't work that well before and now he's asking for money? He'll probably take it and bounce. Wouldn't give him a cent.
Btw. you can still watch vids with an ad blocker, just open the video in incognito mode. Don't give scammers your hard earned money. - Rated 1 out of 5by gost, a year agoJust doesn't work anymore and when it did work it was full of bugs.

posted a year agoIf you want to, you can post 'em. However, I am not maintaining the repository anymore.
I am pushing a new version with a softer limit, maybe that's the problem? If you want to, test it when it comes, and if not, uninstall FadBlock. I will not be updating it. - Rated 1 out of 5by gr, a year ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15792835, a year agoAfter the update, a window keeps popping up, asking for payment and saying it has stopped working. It pops up every time I click on a video! It's very annoying.

So I don't mind paying support since it's WAY better than paying YouTube when YouTube does nothing to block illegal ads. Thank you and please keep up the great work for us Firefox users.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Iothil, a year agoDoesn't work anymore. Also says "Ads Blocker for Chrome", but in the title says for FireFox. So yeah, just stopped working, the only contribution now is that it massively slows down YT. I was playing with the thought of actually buying it, but as long as it keeps randomly working, hell no.
Also, seeing the dev responses... yeah, grow up. Trying to lean into every 1 star review... I am almost getting callcenter vibes. - Rated 1 out of 5by Alex Stargazer, a year agoIt worked fairly well until it suddenly stopped working. The author of the add-on claims it is not paywalled, but he must have screwed up somewhere else.
