I not sure maybe Google loosen their internal audit because of they would like to promote Youtube premium. But it is currently status.
Thanks for his add on to fast-forward through this kind of ad. - Rated 5 out of 5by Mavi, a year agoYoutube gets their ad-money. I get to watch youtube without unwelcome solicitation. Win-Win Thank you.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17726470, a year agoRaj is an absolute giga-chad for developing this! Thank you a million times over! Whatever you did... make it as cryptic is possible so that it takes YouTube forever to figure out the vulnerability.
To all those reading other reviews about that say you have to disable other adblockers, that is not the case, at least for uBlock Origin. With uBlock, you just have to whitelist YouTube from it, at least if you're using uBlock.
And as a dev note to Raj... after a tiny bit of testing, the YouTube Enhancer extension actually seems to be the only culprit preventing this extension from working, at least for me. I seem to be able to keep YouTube blacklisted with uBlock, and still have this extension work as long as YouTube Enhancer is turned off. ***EDIT***: This is actually only true of one computer... another I tested out required uBlock to have YouTube whitelisted. Strange...Developer response
posted a year agoOkay gotcha, I will add this note into the FAQ, thank you so much for taking out time to write this! - Rated 5 out of 5by laurie, a year agoIt works well. If anybody is still getting the anti-adblock warning on the YT site, make sure extensions like "Enhancer for YouTube" aren't attempting to block YT ads. It looks like Firefox's own enhanced tracking protection can trigger the warning too.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18105203, a year agoRequires some tweaking of other extensions if you use several blockers, but then it works exactly as described; allowing a YouTube ad for less than a second and then showing what you actually want to watch. Finally free to watch again.

- Rated 5 out of 5by CR, a year agoSeems to work well, but not perfectly, probably due to YT upping their strictness. So this is just to tell other people what to expect when using this add-on.
I whitelisted Youtube on my main adblocker (Adblocker Ultimate), and this add-on stopped any ads playing before the video, but a pop up did happen about 90 seconds in, stopping the video and asking how effective the ad that just played was (clicked least option and was able to continue with video). After that, about 6 minutes into the video, a brief 5 second ad played, breaking up the flow of the video (this was an interrupting ad, not an ad-read from the content creator). But this is a vast improvement to the recent crackdown on adblockers, which I need to have turned on because (a) my main laptop is older and by default more vulnerable and I want it to keep lasting and so have strict protections on it, and (b) because the volume and flow of all YT ad breaks triggers my neurodivergence, even when I know they are coming (especially the volume, and I have not had a YT ad that didn't do this).
Thank you, Raj, for this add-on!
Edit: the middle ad seems to be only with insanely popular channels and their videos, such as Doctor Mike or SciShow, and fadblock is now speeding those up too. After that first "how would you rate this ad" pop up, no more pop ups happened. So my previous experience might have been a one time thing as my browser was updating or whatever.
Again, this is a fantastic add-on, and thank you again for developing it, Raj!Developer response

- Rated 5 out of 5by Kelocyde, a year agoWorking great but have to disable other adblockers (uBlock or AdNauseam). I see the ads happen, but it's quick. Seems slower than 50ms, more like 100 ms. Not a deal breaker :P

posted a year agoYou can also add youtube.com to the exception list for domains on other adblockers (uBlock Origin, AdBlock) and then download fadblock to override regular adblock being prioritized on YouTube while the conventional adblocker will work across the remainder of the Internet.
