Flowtop Tab Audio by Flowtop

Choose which active browser tab Flowtop hears. Sign in with the same Flowtop account as in the desktop app. Enable optional automatic detection once: tabs playing sound or using a microphone appear in Flowtop without Share this tab. Select one in Capture. Recording starts only with Record in Flowtop.

Detection sends active-tab favicons, titles and activity flags over an authenticated connection to Flowtop on this computer. It does not start recording. Private and browser-internal tabs are excluded. Optional website access prepares output audio capture in Firefox/Zen and observes microphone-use flags in Chromium; it never requests or opens your microphone. Chromium microphone observation starts with new microphone requests on enabled sites after reload. Chrome requires a browser confirmation before capture of each newly authorized tab.

Audio is transmitted only for the selected tab while Flowtop records. Capture never falls back to the whole browser or system audio. No browsing history database, advertising, analytics or remote executable code. Optional detection and site access can be revoked in the popup or browser settings.

Requires Flowtop 1.3.11 or later. Protected audio is unsupported. Firefox/Zen Web Audio may require one reload after enabling site access.

Sign in uses Google, Microsoft or Apple through Flowtop HTTPS authentication with PKCE. Flowtop session and connection credentials are stored locally. Provider passwords are entered only on the provider page. Signing out stops tab audio without signing the desktop app out.

Site icons are loaded directly from the favicon URL provided by the browser, only with existing optional site access. Requests omit cookies and referrers. Icons are resized to small PNGs and cached in memory; no third-party favicon service is used.
