Folio for Canvas by drakeph
Keeps a folder for each of your Canvas courses and saves new course files into it automatically, sorted by module. It never overwrites or deletes anything, and nothing leaves your computer.

About this extension
Pick a folder for each of your Canvas courses. From then on, whenever you open Canvas, new lecture slides, readings, and handouts are saved into it, organized into subfolders that match the course's modules.
How it works
- Uses your normal Canvas login. No passwords, tokens, or accounts to set up.
- Finds files even when an instructor hides the Files tab, by looking through modules, pages, assignments, announcements, and the syllabus.
- Saves documents only (PDFs, slides, Word and Excel files, notebooks, and similar), not the decorative images on course pages.
- The toolbar button shows whether it's checking, when it last checked, and what arrived recently.
Where files go
- Out of the box, files are saved to Downloads/Canvas, in a folder for each course.
- On a Mac, you can optionally install a small helper from the settings page to save each course anywhere you like, including iCloud Drive or Google Drive so files reach your iPad and other devices.
What it never does
- It never changes or deletes anything already in your folders. If a file with the same name is already there, it is left alone.
- If an instructor posts a revised version of a file, the new version is saved beside the original as "Name (revised date)".
- It never sends your files or course information anywhere. Everything happens between your browser, Canvas, and your own computer.
Works with any school's Canvas at an instructure.com address.
