About this extension
Handsfree helps you control supported webpages using head movements, broad hand gestures and voice commands. Choose the controls that feel comfortable, calibrate your pointer, and pause or stop your session whenever you need.
Features:
• Control a pointer with head movements or an open palm.
• Scroll, select page controls and move between browser tabs.
• Record supported commands as voice routines.
• Adjust your controls and permissions through the dashboard.
Setup requirements:
This experimental version requires desktop Firefox 142 or later and a locally running Handsfree dashboard. The default dashboard address is http://localhost:3000/dashboard.
Head and hand tracking require a camera. Voice requires a microphone and your own Groq API key. An optional OpenRouter key enables supported command paraphrases. Provider charges or usage limits may apply.
Firefox uses a visible Handsfree capture tab. Keep it open during your session; stopping the session or closing that tab releases capture.
Camera tracking runs locally. Configured cloud voice services receive microphone audio, and cloud command services can receive permitted page and command context.
On-device dictation is unavailable in this Firefox version. Firefox internal pages and Mozilla Add-ons pages cannot use the pointer overlay. Android support has not been verified.
