- Rated 1 out of 5by Zack, 2 years agoI appreciate the popup about being acquired. If it was some sneaky acquisition I probably wouldn't have heard about it.
Regardless, I will be switching to the best alternative: Consent-O-Matic. I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THAT EVERYONE DOES THE SAME.
I also hope Firefox un-recommends this addon.
I get money is nice, but it's a shame to let go of an extension I have used for years.
I repeat: DO NOT DOWNLOAD. UNINSTALL IF YOU HAVE IT. This is NOT a privacy-safe extension anymore! - Rated 5 out of 5by Šime Vidas, 2 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Meditator, 2 years agoAvast has now taken control of / ownership of this addon, I would recommend uninstalling it, and finding another alternative.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15107821, 2 years agoAvast will sell your data for millions of dollar, avoid this spyware.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17568216, 2 years agoThe add-on is now governed by a "trustworthy IT company", as the dev has just called it (had to check the date wasn't April 1st). Said company is in the business of selling your personal information and it just bought itself some more userbase. Uninstalled. Thankfully a better alternative already existed, called Consent-O-Matic
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13496906, 2 years agoWas awesome until Avast bought it. Look at what happened to CCleaner /Piriform. Abandon this software NOW and seek an alternative.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Andres, 2 years ago2 stars because it was an awesome extension, but... but Avast came to scene.
- Rated 2 out of 5by CreamValkyrie, 2 years agoLoved this add-on and will miss it, but I will not keep using it post-acquisition.

- Rated 1 out of 5by DrSexPhD, 2 years agoDevs: Hey we made thing that is good. Please donate if you enjoy thing
Users: That is good. I like good thing.
Some Users: I shall donate to thing because I like good thing.
Devs: Whoopsie! We got acquired by a corporation that stands for literally everything you don't like! It definitely wasn't for the money!
Some Users: I am leaving and taking my money with me.
New Devs: Hey, we made thing 2, which is just like thing, but without corporation! Isn't that cool? Feel free to donate!
Some Users: I like thing 2, take money from me.
New Devs: Thanks............ Whoopsie! We got acquired by-

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17568166, 2 years agoNo longer recommending this add-on to friends and no longer planning to use it for myself since the developers have cheerfully announced their partnership with Avast, a company that is well-known for selling the user data of over 100 million users - without consent, of course.
Unlike some reviews before myself, I -WILL- call out the author for not being able to resist whatever reward or financial gain this partnership will bring them. Shame on you for being the sell-out that you are. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14303642, 2 years agoAvast has arrived to transform this extension to poop like anything else that they touch. This is going to become a data harvest galore. Uninstall it!
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14232491, 2 years agoSold out to Avast who if you google them you will see why this addon can no longer be trusted.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15007015, 2 years ago"I am proud and happy to say that Avast - a famous and trustworthy IT company known for the wide range of products that help secure our digital experience, has recognized its value!"
First I thought this was a joke or ad. It takes less than 10 minutes to find out that avast is not only questionable for their antivirus software. This company also got caught at collecting and selling personal data from the users of addons! Firefox removed them.
It's very sad that you sold this great addon to such a dubious company. I loved your addon, but after this it seems not trustworth anymore. - Rated 1 out of 5by Rd37, 2 years agoMost of the recent ratings are explaining the same, It is one of my favourite extensions, it is extremely useful, and I would rate it with 5 stars...
Despite today got bought by Avast, in my opinion a free antivirus that harms your personal data more than protecting it, compromising your privacy, so, I deleted it. - Rated 1 out of 5by Freedom, 2 years agoAvast bought it so just remove it, Avast will find a way to profit from it.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Rick216, 2 years agoIt's been a wonderful add-on, such a relief from those uber-annoying cookies notices. That said, I may end up looking for an alternative soon due to the acquisition by Avast, which has a sketchy record when it comes to protecting users' privacy after they acquire a company. (If not for that development, I would have given this five stars.) That said, I want to thank the developer, and can't possibly blame him for being unable to resist the monetary benefits of the acquisition. Anyone can be unhappy to see it acquired by Avast, but no one who has failed to make a donation for this wonderful add-on (as of the moment...) has a right to fault the developer for accepting the offer.
- Rated 2 out of 5by VersalEszett, 2 years agoUsed to be one of the better anti-cookie-banner add-ons, but is not trustworthy anymore after the acquisition.
