- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12274245, 7 years agoGreat Pocket addon. All essential features are there and work. And it is beautiful!
Things I'd like to see:
- Automatically remove or archive Pocket entry when it's opened
- Automatically close the tab when adding the page to Pocket
- Some form of lazy loading or page-by-page loading of the list to make it snappierDeveloper response
posted 7 years agoThanks for your feedback BubiBalboa :) Glad you like it so far!
So far, I focus on making everything working as well as possible, with basic features and a solid foundation for improvements later. So I think automations will come in a second time, it's a bit more tricky cause there are many possibilities and users request many kinds of different scenarios. As for the page by page loading, it's in the roadmap, and to be honest I didn't think there would be so many requests on this... I'll have to think this through, stay tuned :) - Rated 5 out of 5by Kreen Chang, 7 years ago“In My Pocket” version, 4.0 is awesome.
Especially implement the very efficient feature of the clickable indicator in the address bar. And the missing article name issue looks like fixed already.
This add-on seems the best pocket add-on far from official one. Suggest that people who use Pocket service frequently should install this extension and may fall in love with this quickly. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12969830, 7 years agoI just love the add-on. It works well from the very beginning and it keeps updating and adding features. I just miss having the ability to tag my pockets, but I wouldn't be surprised if it suddenly comes with an update!

posted 7 years agoThanks suer_one :) As for the tag, this is a big feature and many users seem to need this, so I definitely intend to add it some day but don't know when yet. - Rated 5 out of 5by nivaca, 7 years agoLove this extension. The closest to the original Pocket addon. Works smoothly.
- Rated 4 out of 5by DJ, 8 years agoThis addon is really comming along!
I think you're already working on some things I'm missing like button to add/remove site, keyboard shortcuts, indicator if a site is already saved, and date saved.
The one thing I think might not be on the list, that I really, really miss from the old addon, is the ability to open pocket in the sidebar. That's something that would make it really useful for me.Developer response
posted 7 years agoThanks for your feedback, I'm glad this addon is helpful to you! Keyboard shortcut is much requested and might be one of the next features to come. As you have noticed, the indicator/button is already done thanks to a contributor :)
As for the sidebar, you're not the first to ask for this, to be honest I've no idea how I'd do this. Maybe it's not so much work, maybe it is, I need to think about this. I've got quite a lot of other features to deal with beforehand, but I keep this in a Trello board. Thanks for the suggestion! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13092835, 8 years agoI love this add-on -- It's become one of my core essential Firefox add-ons.
I like the look of your road map, but can I suggest something like accelereader's functionality for Chrome. Specifically, accelereader adds reading time tags for each article (e.g. 5 min, 12 min, etc). It's a great way to plan reading binges.
Please add that to your road map.Developer response

Hum OK, this is indeed interesting. I see how this works for "content" pages, but what happens when you save, say the main page of a website, with not much content but many links? Is the duration still relevant? I'll add this to my roadmap as an idea to explore in a first time, thanks! - Rated 5 out of 5by 420bootywizard, 8 years agoEDIT--------
Since my initial review the developer has updated their add on, and it now has all of the features I need for functionality. My rating has been adjusting accordingly.

A valiant effort, but not really any more usable in its current state than the default add on.
It is missing several critical features.
-No way to see if the current page is currently saved.
-No way to mark the current page as read
Potential for a great add-on, but not really usable as a replacement currently.Developer response
posted 8 years agoThanks for the feedback! That's harsh, I still am confident that this addon provides a lot more than the built-in pocket addon. Anyway, the features you're talking about are coming, I need to review some code that was supplied to the project, and build upon that. Thanks again for your feedback and we'll keep on improving the addon as much as possible :) - Rated 3 out of 5by giacomp3, 8 years agoIt's great because It is similar to the old official Pocket add-on, but this doesn't have tag support.
Developer response
posted 8 years agoThanks for your feedback ! Yes, I expect to work on this some day. But this is a more complex feature than others, impacts several parts of the addon so it needs a bit of time for thinking and development (and I don't have that much available those days haha). But this is definitely in the roadmap :) - Rated 5 out of 5by Osuka, 8 years agoGreat development! i never realized that pocket icon wasnt on my Firefox anymore, thanks for bringing it back.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12830903, 8 years agoThanks for this great tool!
Is there a way to search the tags? Also, is there a way to go to the Pocket website (the original tool didn't provide a way, either.)? Thanks, again.Developer response
posted 8 years agoThanks for your review, I'm glad this addon is useful to you. As for the tag, it's one of the features I intend to add "someday". I'm not sure yet how I'll do this but it's definitely on my roadmap : http://bit.ly/inmypocketroadmap. As for your other suggestion, I did not really understand, if you want to explain further, you can send me a message here : http://bit.ly/inmypocketcontact. Thanks again :) - Rated 5 out of 5by isari, 8 years agoI'm just another lover of Pocket addon before being integrated into Firefox and have been eager the functionality that expand pocket list without any screen transition.
This addon is exactly what we've desired in this several years.
Current version seems to lack some features like tag system and organization, but I'll gradly be waiting for further implementations. Thanks to great work!Developer response
posted 8 years agoYes, I suppose you're just like me, missing the old firefox addon... :)
I've not dealt with the tags feature for now as I'm not sure how I will implement and design this, but it seems to be an important feature for many users so it's definitely on my roadmap that you can find here : http://bit.ly/inmypocketroadmap . Thanks again for your review and feedback! - Rated 5 out of 5by Boray Eris, 8 years agoIs it possible to add different icon color for pages bookmarked before?
Developer response
posted 8 years agoHello and thanks for your review and suggestion! This is possible, and I intend to do it in an upcoming release. I have several solutions for this feature and still need to decide how I'll do it, but it's definitely on my todo list.
BTW you can have a look at the public roadmap of the project, and even vote for your favorite ideas if you have a Trello account : https://trello.com/b/MfdNQXzX/public-roadmap - Rated 4 out of 5by Nikita, 8 years agoThank you!
Good add-on provided easy access to your pocket savings. Never get the idea why some software developer improving their product by removing useful features. :\Developer response
posted 8 years agoI'm glad you like it. I've started building a settings page (a new version of the addon should be released soon), and pagination is one of the settings I intend to add, since several users have already asked for it. Stay tuned :) - Rated 2 out of 5by Gabo, 8 years agoI'm sorry but right now. I only see the authenicate button even though I clicked on it and went to getpocket to authorize. After that it only updated the counter of the items I have pending to read, but it doesn't list anyone nor I can add more. The only thing that shows is the authenticate button again.
Edit to answer:
I've just reset my firefox so I can have the new button that comes with firefox (I have deleted it) so I don't have the list of plugins I had a few minutes ago.
I remember I have adblock plus, evernote clipper and leechblock. I had uninstalled firefox hello.
My firefox version is 45.0 for Ubuntu Linux.
I've just tried again with my firefox refreshed and it still does the same. I'm a developer too so if you tell me how I could debug it I could give you more information.
(a helpful link would be enough) I did a chrome plugin but I've never worked with firefox before.
I give you one more star for the quick and polite answer :DDeveloper response
posted 8 years agoHey, that's me who's sorry.. I haven't had any problems like yours so far, you're the first. Can you give me some more details by updating your comment maybe, about your version of FF for instance, other addons you might be using maybe? I'd be glad to help you if I can.
Edit : thanks for the update :) I'm quite new to FF addons development myself, and I've got no mechanism built into the addon to help users debug. I'll soon be able to add a "Enable debug mode" button there to give me more insights when there's an issue for someone. What's weird is that your item list must have been correctly loaded since you can see the items count. I've added a "disconnect from Pocket account" feature in my upcoming release, that removes some of the data stored by the addon and disconnect from your Pocket account. Maybe there has been corrupt data, and this might help... but since you've had the bug on a fresh install, I don't have really high hopes.
Edit #2 : there's also a bug fix in the upcoming version that might help. Don't hesitate to tell me if the bug still occures, and I'll be working on a debug mode as soon as I get a bit of free time. - Rated 5 out of 5by through_a_haze, 8 years agoI very miss for favicons next to list items like in the old Pocket addon. So I would be very glad if you will consider adding those favicons.

posted 8 years agoThanks for the comment, I'm glad it helps! I'd like to add this feature indeed, but I've got other things planned first. But it's definitely on my todo list. Thanks again for using "in my pocket" :) - Rated 5 out of 5by Abstract Duck, 8 years agoHaving the pocket items in a quick drop-down menu is much better than having to open a new tab!
- Rated 4 out of 5by SteveP, 8 years agoThis is a fantastically helpful add-on and so much better than the one that comes baked into FF. I have one suggestion: could it be possible to add the ability to edit the title of the entry once it appears in the list? Thank you

posted 8 years agoThanks a lot, I'm glad you like it! I've thought about this but don't know yet how I can add this feature while keeping a minimalist user interface. It's one of the many ideas I'm considering but I can't tell you when I'll add this feature however, as I want to do it "right" :) - Rated 4 out of 5by mwld, 8 years agoI used the old Pocket addon until it stopped being able to sync recently and the support just told me to use the new one which is, eh, not much more than a link to their website.
The UI could need some improvements (text too small, horizontal scrollbar (Windows) and option to remove the counter badge. But I guess most of them have been named already.
Do you consider moving the addon source code to github so others can contribute?Developer response
posted 8 years agoThanks for your review! I'd be interested in having a screenshot of how the popup looks on your windows machine (do not hesitate to drop a file here if you want: http://bit.ly/2gghJTY) because I don't have any issue on the machines I have around me.
As for the code, there's no github repo for now, but I've been hosting the code on a bitbucket repo that you can access through the "Addon homepage" link. I've not thought about opening it to pull requests, the code is still pretty rough, but why not. I've also worked on a public roadmap that I'll disclose on next release, so that everyone can publish and vote for ideas. - Rated 4 out of 5by TranceWarp, 8 years agoWorks for those that use Waterfox. However, I would suggest a darker colored icon for use with the default theme. I almost can't see it with that theme.
Developer response
posted 8 years agoThanks for your review! I didn't know about Waterfox, it looks like the UI is the same as regular Firefox theme, isn't it? Anyway I've been doing some work on a new icon lately, I intend to work on some other fixes before releasing this new version, but I'm confident it will make the icon more readable for you!
