Privacy policy for Lagoon — Living Backgrounds
Lagoon — Living Backgrounds by Divxtron
Full public policy: https://lagoon-living-backgrounds.divxtron.chatgpt.site/PRIVACY.html
Your backdrop stays yours.
Lagoon is a local wallpaper extension. It has no publisher-operated
server, account system, advertising, analytics or telemetry. It does not
sell or transmit your videos, shortcuts or browsing information to the
publisher.
What stays in your browser
Lagoon stores the global and site-specific videos you explicitly choose,
their still frames, appearance preferences, shortcut names and
addresses, and hostnames for sites you pause or customize. A small copy
of settings, shortcuts and the poster is cached on the extension's own
origin to render New Tab immediately. It is never written into the
storage of websites you visit.
Data is not synced to a Lagoon account or uploaded. Browser profile data
is not encrypted by Lagoon. Anyone with access to your browser profile
may be able to access it.
Why Lagoon can access web pages
The extension runs on HTTP and HTTPS pages to draw a background behind
them. It examines DOM elements, dimensions, colors and theme attributes.
On WhatsApp Web, it checks section-heading labels to locate Calls,
Communities, Status or Updates panels and blur only their overlap. These
observations are processed in the tab and are not logged, stored or
transmitted.
The toolbar identifies the current hostname and checks whether Lagoon is
active. Lagoon does not record browsing history, collect messages or
read form values.
Network activity
All bundled artwork, scripts and styles are included in the extension.
Imported media is local. When you submit a search in the Firefox build,
Firefox asks for optional search-term consent before searching with your
default engine. Only the query you submit is passed to Firefox’s search
API. Lagoon does not log searches or send them to a publisher. Declining
leaves wallpapers and shortcuts available. Opening a shortcut navigates
to the saved address. Those sites' privacy policies apply.
The original website icons for default shortcuts are bundled locally.
Other shortcuts use a neutral fallback. No remote favicon service is
contacted. Help and privacy pages are bundled locally.
Permissions
storage: Save wallpaper and preferences locally.
unlimitedStorage: Accommodate imported global and
site videos and their encoded copies.
activeTab: Identify and communicate with the current
tab when you open the toolbar.
search: Run an explicitly submitted search using
Firefox’s default search engine, after optional search-term consent.
HTTP/HTTPS page access: Render backgrounds and adjust
page surfaces. Pause sites in Lagoon or restrict access in your
browser.
Remove or export data
Replace or reset a site wallpaper to remove its unused local video and
poster. Remove a global video in Studio to delete the extension's copy
and poster. Your original file is never modified. Edit or remove
shortcuts and reset site preferences at any time. Export setup saves
appearance, shortcuts and site rules to a file you control; videos are
excluded. Uninstalling Lagoon removes extension storage and its cache.
Exported files must be deleted separately.
Contact and changes
Use the publisher contact on Lagoon's store listing for questions. This
policy describes version 1.1.0. Changes to data handling will be
reflected here and in the store disclosure before release.
