- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18430579, a month agoGreed is not the word. Who pays for a link previewer and complains that it takes resources... Nobody wants that ai garb.
- Rated 1 out of 5by EllieM, 4 months agoYeah no thanks I'm reporting this. Read all the 1* reviews about unnencessary bloat and locking basic features behind a paywall. The author thinks it's obvious what the extension is for, and obvious that functionality is limited without payment.
They replied to one review, saying 'MaxFocus offers more than just link previews, with features like AI and themes, all clearly mentioned "on the box."'.
Well, first search for the extension in the add-ons store: it's called "MaxFocus: Link Preview".
Then find it in FF's extension manager: it's called "MaxFocus: Link Preview & AI Assistant".
Regarding providing link previews only (which lets face it will be the reason why most people install this without reading the bottom half of the description where you buried the PRO limitations) ... that functionality only 'requires resources' if the author chooses to build it in a way that is profitable for the author. There are other better, not-functionally-restricted extensions that manage to accomplish only providing link previews by using only your device's resources, because their author instead chose to build them in a way that is functionally useful to the user.
Finally, if you read this far, your settings to disable the AI buttons don't even work. - Rated 1 out of 5by Hissymaster, 6 months agoPaying? To preview a tab? i would never! (It would have made more sense to me if only the AI was limited but NOOOOOOO...)
- Rated 1 out of 5by Robson Ricardo, 6 months agoThe extension is good, but charging for link previews is downright ridiculous. The 'free' plan has a limit of 100 previews, and after that, you have to pay. I understand putting AI features behind a paywall, but link previews should be free.
Developer response
posted 6 months agoHey Robson, thank you for the feedback. Providing unlimited previews does require resources, which is why we have paid plans. The free plan offers daily free previews, and the Pro plan is a one-time payment—pay once, and you use it forever.
You can also share our extension with others to earn extra free previews for each friend who joins. - Rated 1 out of 5by Chloe, 6 months agoAll this extension needed to be was what it says on the box; preview links without opening the tab. Instead, MaxFocus adds in unnecessary bloat like themes, a search bar(???), AI features and puts it all into a box covered in unnecessarily expensive wrapping paper. (But it's always on sale, so don't worry! You're saving money!)
The bloat makes this not worth installing.Developer response
posted 6 months agoChloe, thanks for the feedback. MaxFocus offers more than just link previews, with features like AI and themes, all clearly mentioned "on the box." These extras are optional and add flexibility. - Rated 1 out of 5by Shiftoss, 8 months agoYeah... paywalling basic functionality is not too great. I'm also sick of every single piece of software pushing some kind of AI, if I see that I'm even more tempted to uninstall just because of that...
Edit: the fake reviews on their site also don't make me like them more... (https://maxfoc.us/welcome/?step=4&isPayment=1&plan=pro_lifetime_a)Developer response
posted 8 months agoHi Shiftoss,
We offer a free plan for basic use—AI is optional.
All the reviews on our site are real and clickable if you want to explore them further. If you have any doubts, we’re here to listen. - Rated 1 out of 5by Ecys, 9 months agoLocking features behind a paywall, on a browser extension...?
You can only open 25 links if you don't want to buy the cheapest plan for $15.90. And even if you pay, those searches won't have the AI features they are talking about.
For AI features you need to buy their pro plan, which is supposedly $49.90! This is a joke!Developer response
posted 8 months agoHello, Ecys.
Thanks for your feedback.
We do offer a free plan that lets you open up to 25 previews per day. If you need more, we have two paid plans: Pro without AI and Pro, both with a one-time payment. It's not a subscription—you pay once and use it forever.
The prices you mentioned are without discounts, which are clearly shown on our website. We provide discounted rates to make it more affordable. The AI features are included in the Pro plan for added value. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12143476, 9 months ago

"You've reached your daily limit of 10 link previews. Upgrade to PRO to get unlimited previews and more features"Developer response
posted 9 months agoHi Hulio,
Thanks for your feedback. The daily limit of 10 link previews helps us manage resources.
Upgrading to the PRO version gives you unlimited previews and extra features. - Rated 1 out of 5by A Very Bad Lady Kitten, a year agoedit: what is this ai shit it's been peddling
flat out there's now a permanent button overlayed on all sites prompting to ai-ify shit and like. why
no, the one toggle does not actually disable it, and no even if you could it does not make it ok
original review:
Very useful, looks good and it's surprisingly not janky at all! Works as well as a built-in browser feature, really
Also has just one small page of (good) options&settings accessible by just clicking on the add-on icon. Which I thought was a plus--
