About this extension
NODUS YT Radar shows you, in real time, where the YouTube video you are watching ranks against the Top 50 trending videos of any country — with a composite Heat score, growth velocity, engagement rate, and an automatically generated narrative that explains the data in one sentence.

Whether you are a creator analyzing competition, a marketing team tracking campaign reach, or simply curious about why a video is or isn't trending, YT Radar gives you the context YouTube doesn't show.

What it does

Open any YouTube video and click the extension icon. The popup shows:
  • POSITION: your current rank in the Top 50 of the relevant country, or how many views you are away from the cutoff.
  • HEAT: a composite score from 0 to 100 based on growth speed (45%), views vs Top 50 (20%), engagement (20%) and recency (15%).
  • VELOCITY NOW: how fast the video is currently growing, in views per hour, compared to the typical Top 50 video.
  • ENGAGEMENT: likes plus comments per view, with the YouTube average (1-3%) as baseline.
  • A one-sentence summary that explains what these metrics mean for this specific video.

A small overlay badge on top of the YouTube player shows the rank at a glance. Four display modes (badge, expanded, ticker, off) can be switched in Settings.

Smart region detection

YT Radar automatically detects the most likely country for any video using three signals with weighted voting:
  1. The channel's declared country (highest weight)
  2. Language detection from the video title
  3. The video's default audio language

If the video is not in your local Top 50 but is clearly meant for another market, the extension auto-switches the displayed country and shows a chip explaining the switch.

Growth tracking

For every video you analyze, YT Radar keeps a 48-hour view-count history on your device and shows:
  • A sparkline of the growth curve
  • Delta pills for the last 1 hour, 6 hours and 24 hours
  • An accelerating or slowing trend tag

All stored locally — your viewing history never leaves your browser.

Supported countries

25 countries with regional Top 50 charts: United States, Brazil, Portugal, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Argentina, United Kingdom, France, Germany, India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Vietnam, Thailand, Italy, Netherlands, Nigeria, China and Taiwan.

Interface languages

Available in 17 languages.

Privacy

YT Radar is local-first:
  • No account, no login, no cloud sync
  • All settings and view-count history are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage
  • The only external requests are to YouTube's public Data API and to the NODUS worker for the Community Spotlight section
  • No personal data, no IP logging, no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs
