- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13623553, 5 years agoSadly this extension does not work in Firefox Developer mode. The bad thing about this is that it fails silently. It shows a green icon but the VPN is not connected. Even tough you think you're safe, you're not. I already contacted the support but they only told me to use the desktop app. I always loved the extension because it was very convenient always being in a VPN while browsing w/o having to configure anything.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14040845, 6 years agoOn latest update, as soon as I open any private window it logs me off completely, I have to relogin to my paid pia user account to continue using it. Without private tabs it seems reliable enough, but any one single private tab - and it logs off. I've been paid user for more then a year now, but now I consider switching, since reliable vpn is required for my work.

The problem is that it constantly asks for your username and password, there is no way to save them, and entering them just results in another prompt.
It's working relatively well so far, but there are a couple problems:
1. We're forced to use Firefox's builtin tracking protection (privacy.trackingprotection.pbmode.enabled). I really dislike this, because I prefer to use PrivacyBadger to dynamically block trackers. This should be user-configurable.
2. I'm prompted to relogin every time I open a Private Window. I would much prefer for it to work seamlessly, remembering my credentials the way it normally does.Developer response

- PIA Extension Team - Rated 1 out of 5by Rashid, 6 years agoThe VPN randomly stops working and it doesn't matter which VPN source (Houston, Chicago, Denver, etc) it will just time out. Have to restart Firefox when that happens and it is very inconvenient and annoying when you have multiple tabs open.

- CS Team - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14311631, 7 years agoI got a year of PIA earlier this year but had to get a different one because the desktop app does not log on. I hoped that this might work but it didn't either. PIA was recommended to me by others so I suppose it works for some but it has never worked for me.

- CS Team - Rated 1 out of 5by dez0, 7 years agoCannot be used because I'm on Firefox Legacy.
Why then, was I allowed to download, install it, and waste my time?
If you choose not to make it compatible with Firefox Legacy, then flag it as such in the Add-ons market so people don't waste their time.Developer response

-CS Team - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 5755878, 7 years agoI am not happy as this VPN service has affected my online banking access. I have received a notice form Microsoft Security to warn about unknown activity. I am still trying to access other issues that have been created by this specific VPN service. If their tech people in the next few days fail to sort out my issues I will cancel and demand a refund. They were rated high by PC Mag and while I read some negative comments about their service I went ahead with it due to the PC Mag rating. I should have paid attention to the negative comments which I might add also included comments about poor tech service. Additionally unlike other VPN services I have tried because they offered a free trial this one does not (Big mistake in my opinion on my part) Also now I have downloaded their system unlike other VPN services they do not provide a webpage logon to which I can go to find out possible solutions to my problems and as well how to temporarily log off their system, and in my view why? I also changed the settings on Google Chrome to both allow their system and to allow my speakers to work (another problem) and very apparently their Google Chrome extension is bogus as it did not change the problems

- CS Team - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 10413421, 7 years agoFirefox Add-on not working (Firefox 60.0.2 in Ubuntu 18.04).
You can enter your username, but field for password does not respond.Developer response
posted 7 years agoHello, this is actually a known bug in Firefox on Ubuntu 18.04 for all extensions with a password field. Unfortunately, this is not something we can fix on our side since it a bug at the OS level. All we can do is wait until the fix is made on Ubuntu's side. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12220017, 7 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14026476, 7 years agoI have mixed feelings here. I totally recommend PIA as a service but not this add on.
Use the actual PIA Client and give this add-on a WIDE berth, it will NOT protect you and WILL reveal your IP address to anybody who is interested. Put bluntly, it just does not work reliably (if at all sometimes).
Sometimes it works, but sometimes it doesn`t, (yet reports that it is connected). - A simple IP lookup reveals all.
Proof:-
https://imgur.com/HnLFbIn (`connected` to london server, but IP lookup showing my Static IP).
https://imgur.com/T6b4mM7 (`connected` to California Server, but again showing my home IP).
A VPN is supposed to anonamize you as one of its primary functions and its clear that with this add-on, the VPN is sometimes not even being connected at all. The most worrying issue is that it reports as being `connected` yet clearly isn`t, which misleads you into thinking you are being protected, when in actuality , you are not.. When first downloaded, this IP look up test (and other similar services), accurately showed the VPN servers IP when tested, but a random test showed it had failed. I guess its possible that reloading the add-on may cure the issue, but whats to stop it failing again? Its not something I would feel happy relying on.Developer response

Could you also send us the version of the extension you are using?
