- Rated 2 out of 5by Jacksaur, 5 months agoWhen it works it's decent. Sometimes gets me into studies that are failing with "too high demand" on the main site. "When it works" is the key factor. Logs me out at random times with no warning, occasionally will not refresh whatsoever, for days until I finally open it and notice the last refresh date is "never". And will randomly reset my alert sound occasionally, missing even more studies until I check and change the settings from their defaults again.
Good idea, just left in a terrible state for far too long. - Rated 2 out of 5by plokoon, a year ago
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 17970086, a year agoThis would be perfect if it checked more often. Sadly it's practically useless as it stands due to the huge quantity of users refreshing the site every few seconds, even grabbing studies with auto-accept scripts. A lot of the time when you do get a notification it's already full.
- Rated 2 out of 5by DC Writer, 2 years agoIt notifies you for every study, not the studies you qualify for; i.e. meaningless and near-constant notifications
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 17756477, 2 years agoIt works well for me but badly needs a dark mode toggle or to respect system-wide darkmode. The site responds well to darkreader but that doesn't extend to add-ons. It can't be that hard. Most addons that have a dropdown menu have a darkmode option.
- Rated 2 out of 5by hrsa, 4 years agoI suggest you increase the frequency check for the new studies. Usually after I click on the notification, there is either 1 or mostly 0 studies left.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Lothay, 4 years agoit only gives the announcement when there's like 1 or 0 places left
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 16376404, 4 years agorecently only notifying by exclamation mark with no audio announcements like usual.
- Rated 2 out of 5by demon_dog, 5 years agoI like the idea behind this extension and the options for it are simple, so it's hassle-free and low effort.
However, whenever it sends me a notification, the study is already full, every time, after my initial use for over a week. Other surveys it outright wouldn't tell me about.
I find it necessary to keep a pinned tab open and manually check it myself every hour or so, because this app is inadiquate but does remind me to check. It would be nice to be able to make it check more frequently than every 60 seconds. - Rated 2 out of 5by FlashMan, 5 years agoProlific Assisant used to be amazing with great notifications but ever since Prolific updated their site a few weeks ago where it's constantly contacting some authorization server "oauth" I keep getting logged out every several minutes with a red exclamation mark and the only way to fix it is by manually refreshing the page. It fails to fetch several studies constantly, I sometimes wondered why I don't have any studies for such a long time. So I visit the Prolific studies tab manually and behold two studies waiting for me that the notifier failed to alert me, gave me alert when I manually visited the site. You guys really need to get this fixed up with the notifier being logged out constantly, failing to be notified for studies. The original owner before it was transferred to you constantly kept it updated, it's a shame nothing is being done.
