Proton Pass by Proton

by Gotz, a year agoThe subscription plan is very poorly thought out, I have the "mail plus" subscription and if I want unlimited proton pass I have to take "proton unlimited" which is a price difference that makes no sense.
The free version is much too restricted.
There are also a lot of bugs: the fields are filled in but the validate/connect button does not activate, or refuses to connect.
It also lacks many functions, the "check up" of weak passwords for example does not exist, the sorting functions are more than limited, all this is too basic.
In short, it's too expensive and it's too limited.
I wanted to switch from Firefox manager to proton pass and finally I backtracked.
I love proton mail but there is still a lot of work to be done to make proton pass a premier password manager.

posted a year agoThank you for sharing your feedback with us! A password strength indicator is currently available on Android and iOS, and it's on our roadmap for the extension as well. Moreover, having two active subscriptions under the same account is not supported. If the Unlimited plan doesn't fit your needs, a possible workaround is having two Plus accounts - one for Proton Mail and another one for Pass.
Please let us know what sorting options you're missing, as well as which validate/connect button you're referring to, in an update to your review.

Best I've found? YES
Name a password manager, and I've probably used it for personal use or as an IT Systems and Solutions Engineer. Proton Pass has been the best one by a wide margin.
Any difficulties I've faced while using the Proton Pass extension can usually be traced back to the target website or app and how it's built/configured, and not to a problem with Proton Pass itself.
There is still room for improvement, particularly around security key integration, but I've encountered far fewer headaches with Proton Pass and its Firefox extension than with any other password manager.
Also, if past updates are any indication, I definitely remain hopeful that it will continue to get better. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17543244, 12 hours ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Elle, 2 days agoMostly really happy with the add-on, but the following issues/features take it down from five stars:
- disable autosave for this website doesn't seem to work
- defaults to individual vaults rather than all log-ins, which means I often have to manually change to find the password that I need (and was very confusing before I realised this was happening)
- can't/doesn't offer auto-populate when pages have a small pop-up login rather than the login elements being displayed in the page (although this depends on the exact website)Developer response
