posted 4 months agoThe default auto-connect option will connect you to the fastest available server for you. This leads to better load balancing and higher speed, which is a priority for free users. That said, you still have the option to switch to another randomly allocated server by disconnecting and reconnecting again, or you can upgrade to connect to a specific server of your choice. - Rated 1 out of 5by Seba, 4 months ago

Окно ввода не открывается. Однако, если запущен другой VPN, окно "Войти" открывается! Зачем нужен этот VPN, который не запустить без другого VPN?!

posted 5 months agoWe're sorry to hear that. The reason you're experiencing this issue is due to the aggressive restrictions in Russia. Our team is working hard on improving our infrastructure so that all our users are able to connect more easily. We will continue to make more improvements to enhance service availability despite the ongoing blocking attempts.
Meanwhile, you may consider downloading the official Proton VPN app for your specific OS to see if you're able to connect more easily. If you cannot access our website in order to do that, please contact us at protonvpn.com/support-form or proton.me/support/contact, or simply send us an email directly at so we can assist you further. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16539421, 5 months agoEsta aplicación no es free para nada, si o si te obliga a pasar por caja primero.
No merece la pena, para pagar las hay mejores que esta.Developer response
posted 5 months agoWe do have a Free plan that costs $0 and allows you to secure your internet connection with no ads, no logs, and provides the same level of privacy and security as our paid plans. Anyone can sign up for our Free plan, and we don't ask for any payment details during signup. - Rated 1 out of 5by PatrikZudel, 5 months agoThe extension keeps logging me out after restarting the browser. It has been happening for months.

posted 5 months agoWe are aware of this issue and our team is working on a fix, although we don't have an ETA at the moment. For the time being, as a workaround, you can log out of the browser extension, restart your browser, and when logging back in, select 'Keep me signed in'. This should keep you logged in and only ask you to log back in periodically. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18726505, 6 months agoЭто гениально, чтобы включить vpn приложение, нужно сначала зайти на заблокированный сайт этого приложения!
Как я на него зайду, если для этого и скачиваю это приложение чтобы открывать заблокированные сайты?
то есть надо сначала найти другой VPN, чтобы установить этот
Где логика?

- Rated 1 out of 5by Anstro Pleuton, 6 months agoCan't even select a server in free tier
I read through other reviews and stumbled across EnbyTea's review. This is exactly what my frustration is:
> free version is useless since you can't select countries in it anymore. If you're going to pay money for a VPN do it elsewhere.
The developer's response is also useless:
> The default auto-connect option will connect you to the fastest available server for you. This leads to better load balancing and higher speed, which is a priority for free users. That said, you still have the option to switch to another randomly allocated server by disconnecting and reconnecting again, or you can upgrade to connect to a specific server of your choice (["URLs are not allowed." says mozilla]).
If you are providing free version, do it right. This does not make any sense to just randomly connect to some random freaking server. You either make a really good free version or none at all. Everything in between will ALWAYS result in extremely terrible user experience. This is why, I will never be upgrading. I will just go ahead and find other extension for a better free experience.Developer response
posted 6 months agoOur mission is to make online privacy accessible to all, and that's why we offer a Free plan that costs $0. Our free VPN has no ads, no logs, and is as secure & private as our paid plans. It's made possible thanks to the support from our paid users, and NOT your data. With that in mind, certain features and functionalities are necessarily available only on our paid plans. Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by _KingClown, 7 months agoDude, I can't even access anything from how slow it is on Free. I can't even access YouTube or anything, no website can load.

posted 7 months agoThat doesn't sound right. Connection speeds can be influenced by numerous factors such as your native ISP speed, location, server load, network setup, etc. You could try some of the tips at https://protonvpn.com/support/increase-vpn-speeds to improve your connection speeds. If the issue persists, contact us at https://protonvpn.com/support-form so we can assist you further. Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by Badaboom, 7 months ago

posted 8 months agoHello,
I would recommend to download the desktop application instead in such case, you can do it from GitHub which hopefully shouldn't be geo-blocked:
Windows: github.com/ProtonVPN/win-app/releases
macOS: github.com/ProtonVPN/ios-mac-app/releases
Linux: should be available via apt, yum, etc.
