- Rated 3 out of 5by Solemn, 3 years agoWARNING: If you use large numbers of tabs this add-on will frequently destroy the organisational structure of the tabs you have sorted into different panels when closing and reopening a browser session, requiring you to potentially reorganise large numbers of tabs or close the affected browser windows and attempt to load a saved snapshot of them, wasting a lot of your time.
As other reviewers have already mentioned, this problem doesn't appear to be an issue if you only use small numbers of tabs.
I tried this add-on after being a long time 'Tree Tabs' user (which handles large numbers of tabs reliably) and was hoping Sidebery would be a potential replacement with more QoL features.
Unfortunately Sidebery's inability to reliably save and restore browser session tab structures with large numbers of tabs means I would not recommend this to anyone who browses with large numbers of tabs.
Hopefully this issue can be fixed as Sidebery has a lot of good things going in its favour (e.g. clean UI, snapshot save system, panel sorting, containers) however until this critical issue is fixed the user experience is frustrating and wastes their time. - Rated 3 out of 5by serpenta, 3 years agoIt's great when it comes to keeping tabs neatly arranged on a smaller scale, however, it doesn't manage large numbers of tabs (500+) and containers (8) well, especially when combined with multiple windows. With multiple windows the containers become routinely reset (all tabs are moved to the default container) and the add-on confuses placement of some tabs. Pinned tabs become routinely unpinned and I have also lost the configuration of containers several times now, which is a shame because I loved using the simple automation and integration with firefox containers this add-on offers. It is in my opinion a perfect tabs manager when it comes to the features, hovewer the performance is lacking.

Tried many Tree Tabs extensions, the Edge has a great native one, and this one is even better.
It has all the features you can think of and is very customizable; How much time did it take to create this master piece?
Besides having a tree like panel, it can do many things we use other addons for:
1-it can save the opened tabs as in a session manager
2-it can discard tabs as a tab suspender
group tabs
3-it can group tabs in groups of tabs and also by containers
Why don't you make it block ads haha

- Rated 5 out of 5by Mozzzzzzz, 3 years agoI'm a power user (1K+ tabs opened).
With lateral tabs, grouping and panels, Sidebery changed my way of using the browser and it's great.
Probably it's the main reason because I stay with Firefox. - Rated 5 out of 5by ohlordyitsordy, 3 years agoHands down the best tree tab extension. At one point I was considering creating my own extension to make up for lack of features/bugs/poor design/other issues in the other existing tree tab managers but this extension implements everything I envisioned plus a bit more. They probably did it better than I could've at that! Great design, great feature set, highly functional. Kudos to the dev(s).

- Rated 5 out of 5by colemickens, 4 years agoI am speechless, Sidebery is hands-down the best Firefox extension I've ever used. So good. So thoughtful. So functional. So compact. So flexible. 10/10. I'm sending a donation in the other tab here. Wow. Life-changing. :)

- Rated 4 out of 5by tessierp, 4 years agoGreat add-on with a lot of feature. My only critique is that, it doesn't matter if you mark tabs as containers or in a group, all the tabs remain in the main view and when you have many tabs it just look awful. Sure, you have sidebery to help you but I think it would be nice if, upon switching to a container or a group it would only load those specific tabs in the view just like Opera does with its workspace feature.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Mckol, 4 years agoSo I used to think TST was great, but this... this takes it to another level. The out-of-the-box experience is great. There's a lot of features, the UI is coherent in it's design, which is pretty damn neat, and to top it all off it kept my hierarchy from TST. I couldn't have asked for more.
P.S.
To have the colors of the browser match colors of the sidebar I got the "Dark Theme for Firefox by Stefan vd" theme. I could have done it the other way around but I like the warm gray better than the proton gray honestly. And it matches the userCSS I use for making all the "about:" pages dark :)
