Tbh I think the issues are not caused by the extension but that FF is inconsistent.
If I open a new window with Ctrl-N then it may or may not show the side bar, who knows. If I open a new window by calling the EXE again (either from an AHK hotkey which loads the start menu shortcut or right click FF taskbar button > Open New Window) then it always opens a new window without the side bar displayed.
On top of that, I have FF set to restore previous windows at start. But if I close and reopen FF then none of the restored windows have the sidebar enabled, and even Ctrl-N stops opening new windows with the sidebar. I have to go through this convoluted process of going into Settings > Customise sidebar, then enabling 'Open tools from sidebar', making Sidebery visible, then disabling 'Open tools from sidebar' again. Only then will it whow the sidebar on new windows when I use Ctrl-N (but not the EXE or shortcut). And this only applies until I close and reopen FF then I have to go through that process again. It's too much work.
Maybe I'll try it again some day, but FF behaviour needs to be more consistent before I can use this extension, and for now I have gone back to plain old horizontal tabs. - Rated 3 out of 5by Misha, 24 days agoSigue mostrando todas las pestañas: inactivas y activas, solo suele ser útil para organizar pero no para reducir el ruido visual

- Rated 3 out of 5by Kostenzer, a year agoSince the feedback here is quit good, I stayed at 3 stars. I didn't manage to use this ad-on or find a manual. This made me to uninstall this ad-on. I regret knowing how to use Sidebery

Then you'll lose any tab you had open and have no way find out what they where apparently - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14171130, 2 years agoAs a user of the Sidebery extension for Zen Browser, I had high expectations for improving my tab management experience. I wanted Sidebery to automatically group tabs from the same domain into one tab, which would reduce clutter and simplify navigation between related pages. Additionally, I hoped for an option to display only the logos of the domains rather than the full text. This minimalist approach would create a cleaner look and allow for quick access to tabs by clicking on the logo. However, despite its goals of sorting and organization, the application still tends to clutter my screen and occupy too much space. Overall, I was looking for a tool that enhances both functionality and visual appeal, but I found it lacking in these areas.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Loke, 3 years agoReally cool, I'm using it as my main tab bar, the only thing that it lacks (Or I would like it had) is the ability to change the favicon to some tabs so I can have the same page open two times with different favicons like I can change the tab title
Sometimes it mixes my tabs from one folder to another and I end up with some empty folders and one folder with everything - Rated 3 out of 5by adfowlkes, 3 years ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by Expert Plus 🍀, 3 years agoI have no idea why do people say that this extension is better then Tree Style Tabs.
TST allows CSS customization and way much more comfortable for me to use then Sideberry.
I tried SB 3+ times and each time I remove the extension to come back to TST.
Sorry devs, but your extension is so confusing to setup!
P.S. It's April 10, 2024, Wednesday and I did found out how to setup your extension. Looks like it is indeed better then TST :-) - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 16642098, 3 years agoPlease add ( i created an account for just this review as its so glaringly obvious an option) the default option when opening the sidebar to be "bookmarks" not "tabs" as mentioned by others. Its a bookmark addon primarily. Let me use it as such. The option to remove unneeded "other bookmarks" and "bookmarks menu" would also help the user experience.

- Rated 3 out of 5by QHAL, 3 years agoThis plug-in is conceptually awesome, and offers many appealing features & options, especially around customisation and workflow adaptation / enhancement.
Unfortunately, in practice it fails to impress and deliver. It's far too slow and cannot handle the number of tabs I work with (which FF alone handles without issue), crashes often or causes browser to slow down, and the interface is poor and when using the customisation options, the results are often different to expectations. I've since found a plug-in related to this category that works swiftly and reliably without issue, although has far less features. - Rated 3 out of 5by Patrick Michaelsen, 4 years agoHonestly what would sell this for me is the ability to rename tabs. I have specific configurations for different services and workflows. It would be easy to "eyeball" which are which, since a lot of them have the same tab title.
