With me it appears a complete blank canvas. Please help, I've been waiting years for this extension to work again. - Rated 5 out of 5by BringBack CoolPreviews, 6 years agoI.LOVE.IT! I can't believe that, after all this time, someone has FINALLY released a replacement for Cool Previews! That was, hands down, the most useful add-on ever, and the reason I stayed with Firefox through many of its ups and downs. When Cool Previews was absolutely gone (I didn't upgrade FF so I could keep using CP - until it was no longer possible), I almost quit using FF completely. Now I will make FF my Default browser again!
Thanks you so much for this! A couple of small requests: it would really help if the window could be resized, and moved around (or include a preference to set where it opens), since it is usually smaller than the previewed page, requiring side-to-side AND up-and-down scrolling, and it opens glued to the right side of the page, which can block what I'm looking at.
Otherwise, it opens pretty fast, and the close button works well. Its icon even looks a lot like the old Cool Previews icon :o)
PLEASE keep working on this -- I would definitely be willing to contribute to help. - Rated 5 out of 5by Harlman, 6 years ago5 ***** for effort as I've been looking for a Cool Previews replacement for years!
I would like the ability to resize the window and control the appearance and disappearance times and I would be prepared to pay for this add-on.
Thanks! - Rated 5 out of 5by Rick, 7 years agoI've been waiting a long time for an ezLinkPreview type of addon for FireFox and it has finally arrived. Unfortunately, it's missing one essential feature so I can't give it 5 stars. It needs a close button! Yes it closes itself after a certain amount of time but this waiting time seems to vary and sometimes it takes forever. Just add a close button. It's a good start though. Thanks to the developer.
EDIT: My request has been fulfilled! I've updated my review to 5 stars. Thank you Lecron!
EDIT2: Would it be possible to add a shortcut command for opening the preview window? For example ALT or MOUSE 4 and click on a link would open a preview, the CTRL LEFT-MOUSE which opens a new tab comes to mind. A similar command could be used to more easily close the preview window. - Rated 5 out of 5by amokk, 7 years agoGreat start. Resize and close buttons will be useful.
I did this by myself - can resize and drag window, size/pos is saved into storage.local then restored. Can I publish this with link to your original addon? Or simply share it with you, if you have not time to implement this functionality. - Rated 5 out of 5by Discovery, 7 years agoOne of the most needed extensions in Firefox. I've been looking for a good replacement of CoolPreviews for years, now you finally made it. Thanks Lecron! It works well. Five stars!

Please explain the icons along the top.
The back / forward arrows. Is that to take you through pages on the website?
What is that square suppose to do?
The pin on the right side, allows the preview to stay up?
Would be nice to be able to resize the window. I just want a preview, not the whole website.
Is it suppose to work on Google Images.?Developer response
posted 7 years agoIn the preview window, you can click on the links. Accordingly, go back and forward.
"Square" allows you to open the page you are viewing in a new tab.
Click "Pin" to block the automatic closing of the preview window.
For the rest, I want to keep the add-on as simple as possible. No plans to resize the window, adapt to individual services, overcome the CSP locks. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 14076769, 7 years agoI really like to have an replacement for Cool Preview, but current version 1.00 is way to slow to be useful.
I hope future versions will fix this. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14074712, 7 years agoFinally the replacement of "cool preview".
So, I put Firefox as the default browser! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14064171, 7 years agoHad to upgrade to a new PC. Cannot believe I found this on day one of the release. Had to keep an older version of Firefox to use a different preview plugin that went unsupported years ago. This one works just like it so far. Only issue is that the preview window doesn't close easy but it is still new.
