About this extension
Stories disappear after 24 hours, but the stories tray does not tell you which ones are about to go. Story Age for Instagram adds a small badge to each ring on the tray (instagram.com on desktop) for that account's oldest unwatched story, so you can watch the ones that are about to expire first and leave the rest for later.
Features:
- Badge shows the time left until the story disappears, the time since it was posted, or the clock time it was posted.
- Formats: hours only (3h), hours and minutes (3h35) or clock style (3:35).
- Color rules by time left, for example red under 4 hours and orange under 8 hours. Add as many rules as you like.
- Badges update every 30 seconds and move on to the next unwatched story as you watch.
- Nothing on the page is rearranged; the tray looks the same, just with badges.
- Settings page in English and Polish.
How exact times work: before you open an account, Instagram's tray only tells when its newest story was posted. With "Exact times" on (default), the extension loads the story lists of accounts with unwatched stories from instagram.com, the same way Instagram does when you open stories, in small batches and only when needed. Stories are not marked as watched. You can turn this off in the settings.
Privacy: the extension communicates only with instagram.com, using your existing session in the browser. It collects nothing and sends no data to the developer or any third party. Settings and loaded story times are stored locally in your browser.
