Surfshark VPN Extension by Surfshark

by rydan313, 5 years agoWhen it works it works great. That's most of the time. But when it doesn't it is a complete disaster.
Recently I discovered after a few days that the icon was no longer highlighted. I checked and sure enough I had not only been disconnected from VPN the whole time but I was also logged out of my account. I did a data request on one of the sites I was using at the time and they had my city and IP address clearly logged over a period of almost 24 hours. The remainder of the time they had on file for me did have my proxy IP instead. Logging back in and reconnecting worked but CS said I should just reinstall to fix the issue. That's happened once in the past 3 months of using the service.
But what more commonly happens is all connections stop working. So you try to disconnect the proxy and connect to a new one. But it does nothing. And when you click on it again you find you are logged out. But you can't log in. It just doesn't work at all. The good news is since no connections work your privacy isn't being leaked but that's the only good part. And this happens across all PCs and OSes at the same time every time it happens. So I have no idea what causes this. A few days later it mysteriously works perfectly again. So expect to completely lose the ability to surf anonymously for several days a month if you only use this plugin.

Considering I've had bad experiences with other VPNs, I highly recommend SurfShark to everyone. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18294737, 21 days agoMy measure of the effectiveness of Surfshark is how full my bypass list becomes. Sites that effectively have determined that a VPN is in effect. My bypass list is FULL - I would add more if the list allowed it. Nowadays the sites that reject the VPN connection simply do not load until I turn the VPN off (~50%) or add to the bypass list.

posted 21 days agoHello, sorry to hear about this experience. Some websites actively block VPN IP addresses, and switching to a different server in the Surfshark app or extension can often help reduce how many sites need to be added to Bypasser. We’d also like to look into why so many pages are failing to load for you, as that’s not the experience we want you to have. Please get in touch with us via live chat on our website or at support@surfshark.com. - Rated 5 out of 5by John, 23 days ago

- Rated 2 out of 5by Adler, 2 months agoIt works, but it's severely slowing down firefox, especially on sites with a lot of javascript.

posted 3 months agoHi there, we're sorry about the CAPTCHA checks you experienced. These issues often occur when many users connect to the same VPN server. You can try switching to a different server or using a dedicated IP to help resolve this. If you need further assistance, please contact us at support@surfshark.com, and our support team will be happy to help. - Rated 1 out of 5by centurion 2000, 3 months ago
