About this extension
See a bot, say a bot. SynthStamp shows community tags next to Reddit accounts, posts, comments and images: bot, AI-written, repost, spam or vouched human. Tag what you spot, see what others spotted, and make up your own mind.
Spot the flag. A faint flag sits next to every username, and on comments and images people have tagged. Nothing is hidden or removed; you see the tags and decide for yourself.
Add your tag. Click the flag and say how sure you are: bot, maybe a bot, maybe human, human. Name the kind of bot if you can tell (AI, repost, spam), or mark an open bot like a subreddit's helper, and say what gave it away if you like (chatbot style, generic praise, copied text…). Your vote belongs to the post or comment you made it from: meet the account again elsewhere and you can vote again, and you still count once. You can also tag just one comment or image without saying anything about the person who posted it.
It follows them. A tag sticks to the account everywhere it posts. Text and images are recognised when they come back, even under a new title: a story or picture another account posted before is marked "seen before", with where it was first seen. When commenters call a post a repost, the post says so and lists what they said. An account with very high karma, or a lot of it for its age, gets a plain figure on its flag, such as "271k karma in 1 month". Images are fingerprinted in your browser and never uploaded.
A count of people, never a verdict. Every flag says how many people tagged something and as what. SynthStamp itself never decides who is a bot, and when people disagree you see both sides.
Useful from your first tag. Whatever you mark stays marked for you, wherever it turns up again.
What it collects, plainly. To recognise reposts, SynthStamp sends what the Reddit pages you open show:
It runs only on reddit.com. You'll see the full list before it does anything, and one switch in its menu turns the page sharing off. Details: synthstamp.com/privacy
Free. No account needed. Works on new Reddit and old.reddit.com. More sites are planned, each announced before it's switched on.

- the text of posts and comments, who posted them, and the page address
- a fingerprint of each image, never the image itself
- the karma and age Reddit shows for a thread's poster and top commenters
- your tags and a random install id
- the Reddit username you're logged in as, if the page shows it
