Latest version
Version 0.2.3
Released Oct 20, 2026 - 66.92 KBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later- Fixed: a comment saying something was "copy pasted" (a game world, a building) was taken as calling the post a repost. Which comments count is now decided by SynthStamp's server, so corrections like this one apply at once, to comments already seen too.

Version 0.2.2
Released Oct 20, 2026 - 67.45 KBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later- Changed: a comment only counts as calling a post a repost when it says so. A link to another post on its own no longer counts: people link funny posts, megathreads and rules as often as older copies.
- Fixed: AutoModerator's welcome note, and moderators' notes linking the rules or a Discord, were listed as comments calling the post a repost.

Version 0.2.1
Released Oct 19, 2026 - 67.17 KBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterNew:
- A vote on an account belongs to the post or comment you made it from. On another post or comment of the same account you can vote again; going back to one you voted from changes that vote. "Earlier votes" lists them, to change or remove. You still count once, as the average of your votes, newer ones weighing more.
- With a bot or AI tag you can say what gave it away (off topic, generic praise, chatbot style, copied text and more). The reasons people gave show in the tag menu as counts.
- The menu says when the latest vote was made, and shows communities side by side when they disagree about an account.
- When commenters call a post a repost or link another Reddit post, the post gets a mark ("Maybe repost · 2 comments") and its menu lists those comments. What commenters said, never a tag. Links to Reddit posts in comments are sent with them.
- An account with very high karma shows "~5M karma" on its flag, as a SynthStamp user last read it. Opening its menu reads today's figure.
- A human tag can say what kind of person: "Uses AI", "Reposts" or "Promotes".
Changed:
- A long post reposted under a new title, with a line moved or dropped, is recognised as the same text.
- Karma figures sit in the account's flag itself. Very high karma (500k+) is marked quietly; a young account with a lot of karma for its age stands out in red.
- The kinds of bot (AI, Repost, Spam, Declared) appear once you pick "Bot" or "Maybe bot".
- The top of the tag menu is short labelled lines (Reddit, SynthStamp, Tags). "Posted this elsewhere" links to the other place.
- A tag keeps the post or comment, and picture, it was made from each time it is set or changed.
- With page sharing on, a post or comment is sent with what Reddit prints beside it (reply-to, score, comment count, awards, flair, community, author badge). Nothing is shown from it yet. Nothing about you is among it.
- The page address is sent without its query or fragment. The popup asks nothing of the server before you accept the consent page.
Fixed:
- A post's text never got its "Seen before" mark on new Reddit.
- A reply quoting another comment was marked "Seen before". Quotes are left out of matching now.
- An image post showed two flags that pushed the picture down. One flag now floats on its corner.
- A picture shown twice inside one post was called "posted in 1 other place".
- A community's icon got an image flag.
- Only the first picture of a gallery got a flag.
- Comments and pictures Reddit added in the first seconds could go without a flag.
- A picture seen on a feed card got no flag in its thread.Source code released under All Rights Reserved
Version 0.2.0
Released Oct 7, 2026 - 54.57 KBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterSeen before. A post, comment or image that another account posted earlier is now marked, and the mark opens where it was first and last seen. This is what SynthStamp users have seen, not necessarily the original.
Karma for its age. For the poster and the first few top comments of a thread, SynthStamp now asks Reddit for the account's karma and age. An account with a lot of karma for its age gets a plain figure next to its name, such as "271k karma in 1 month", and every account's menu states both. It is a figure, not a tag. There is a switch for it in the menu.
Say how sure you are. Tags on an account are now a scale: human, maybe human, maybe bot, bot. Naming the kind of bot (AI, repost, spam) is optional. Tagging a single comment or image is still there, folded under the account.
Image tags now work on Reddit. SynthStamp could not read pictures from Reddit's image hosts, so no image was ever fingerprinted. It now asks for permission to read them. Images still never leave your browser, only their fingerprint does.
Fixed: comments loaded later on a page were flagged twice and could not be tagged on their own; a post opened from the feed lost its "This post" section; a comment that is only a video or GIF was read as text; a browser with several Reddit tabs registered once per tab.
The unused "server" setting is gone from the menu. Your Reddit username (used only to keep counts honest) is recognised on new Reddit once you've opened your profile menu.Source code released under All Rights Reserved
