About this extension
Tab Renamer lets you give any browser tab a label that makes sense to you, and keeps it in place. Free with no limit and no account. Pro: $5.99 once, no subscription.
WHAT IT DOES
Click the toolbar icon, type a new title and press Enter. Your text shows up right away. Switch on "Keep names" once and it comes back after a reload, after a restart, and every time the site writes a heading of its own, for example an unread counter or a route change in a web app. Each label is saved for its address, so it looks the same the next time you open it.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Click the icon, press Alt+Shift+Y or right-click and choose "Rename this tab…".
2. Type and press Enter. Reset brings the original back.
3. Find everything you saved in one list, with search, open and delete.
FREE
• Rename as many tabs as you like.
• Your labels survive reloads, restarts and changes made by the site.
• Keyboard shortcut and right-click menu.
• Works with IME input: Enter only saves when you are done typing.
PRO ($5.99, LIFETIME)
• Rules for every address of a domain, a wildcard or a regex pattern, with {title}, {host} and $1 placeholders.
• A custom icon from an emoji or a color.
• Remove unread counters like (3).
• Import and export of everything as JSON.
LIMITS
Browser pages, the extension store and the built-in PDF viewer cannot be changed by extensions.
PRIVACY
Everything stays in your browser: labels, rules and settings are never uploaded, and there is no account. Without "Keep names" the extension only acts on a page when you use it there. "Keep names" asks for access to all websites, because your label has to be set again as soon as a page opens; it only compares the address with what you saved and does not read page content. You can switch it off at any time. The only data sent anywhere is the email address you enter when you buy Pro, which is used to check your purchase.
