How to self-assign the Hotkey for highlighting: see bottom of linked page

For archiving, the highlights ARE PRESERVED if saving a local copy of the page with "Save Page WE" add-on.
One request: being able to assign a keyboard shortcut for highlighting myself. - Rated 4 out of 5by Animiles, 5 years agoIt looks great and it works great, but it lacks two features. Once you've highlighted some text you cannot un-highlight said text. The only way to do that is to remove all highlights and manually highlight everything else again, which is rather tedious. The other feature is a save feature. I want to keep highlights for future reference. Of course not everyone needs this, so it would be nice if this feature could be turned on or off. But it would be a great feature to have.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Ricetoken, 5 years agoEnfin une extension de Highlight qui fonctionne... Cependant, je n'ai pas encore trouvé comment utiliser le raccourci F9 pour surligner, quand sur firefox, F9 est deja un raccourci pour le mode lecture
Si quelqu'un connait la solution, je veux bien un peu d'aide :) - Rated 4 out of 5by Brett Zamir, 5 years agoWorks nicely; would be very nice to be able to individually remove markers, whether from the right side of the page or on the highlighted text

- Rated 5 out of 5by ArioSuren, 6 years agoPerfect. Even better than the version for pre-Quantum. It does what it's supposed to, and the only one of its kind.
Please don't stop updating this for future Firefox versions. - Rated 5 out of 5by Bento de Espinosa, 6 years agoVery good! Especially because it does not save the highlights, which is something I do not need.
I only wish the colors would be a bit stronger, like a real text marker. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14346878, 6 years ago

AMAZING WORK @ Developer - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14266790, 6 years agoMě se líbí na tomto doplnku že má 7 barev a můžete s tou barvou, kterou si vyberete označit jakýkoliv text.
Nelíbí se mi to, že to má moc bledé barvy, potřebuju trochu nasycenější - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14187110, 6 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14049434, 7 years agoTo solve the F9 issue until the next update, you can disable the reader view: open the about:config page via the location/address bar. Click "I'll be careful" to continue. And set "reader.parse-on-load.enabled" to false.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Martin Strobl, 7 years agoWorks great, but from Firefox version 60.0, the F9 key is hard-coded to toggle the Reader-view - please assign a different key to the TextMarker.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13756721, 7 years agoIt works but doesn't save the highlight upon refresh
- Rated 3 out of 5by Bluezo, 7 years agoDoes not highlight other occurences of the word(s) highlighted at first !!!
As a plain "paper and pen replacement", is very fine !
You should maybe re-think your addon as a complement to Firefox search as you type (after a search, your "marker" could mark all the occurences ... or just the one sought).
Then, it would be really awful ... doing a search with Firefox tool and then highlighting the found occurences with your addon ... and make another search + add new highlights to the previous ones in a different color ...
Finally an intelligent way to search and highlight ...
As of now, seless as a search and highlight for me. - Rated 4 out of 5by anshulguleria90, 7 years agoIf you could allow to write notes and persist on page reloads that would be awesome. You could use localStorage to persist.
