There is an actively maintained fork, but it is not available in the add-ons store.

Would be good to have a list with favourite streams not only the option to delete them. (Show only favourites doesn't work) - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14758904, 5 years agoThere's a lot of tracking done by this addon so /!\ WARNING /!\ this application cost your private life (like more than the other addons in general)
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14583145, 5 years agoUsed this addon for ages. Love it.
BUT, lately it started acting weird.
Currently Live Followed Channels aren't properly being loaded anymore.
So I clicked the Log Out button to try and fix it.
Sadly its stuck logged out, but it still thinks I'm logged in.
Console says: db.deauthorize doesnt exist. Something like that.
A button somewhere to delete all cloud storage settings of this addon would be great, so I could reset all settings.
Thank you. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13744058, 5 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15229254, 5 years agoNo progress in the last two years. It seems the dev has abandoned this add-on.
I have been using the two-year-old v3.1.12 because it's still the best. I still can't figure out why the dev had to change the design and even the functionality of it in v4. Now the API in v3.1.12 is going to be dead in early September 2019 and I have no choice but to migrate to this version which has bugs and shortcomings such as:
- No way to add your favorite games so you could quickly see which streams are currently online for your said games. Twitch Fox v3 had that.
- Cannot import my followed channels from v3 to v4. I had to manually add around 1000 channels! But it's not even straight forward as before. You have to first search the channel name or ID; then it mostly returns more than one channel with similar names. Then you have to look for the one that you actually want to add and then finally add it.
- Following and unfollowing a channel has bugs. Many a times I tried to follow/unfollow a channel and the heart icon didn't change color. Then I found out the add-on somehow not only crashed but wiped out ALL of my added channels. I either had to re-load the channels list from my saved lists, or re-install the entire add-on.
It's so disappointing that such a great add-on went downhill so much in terms of features and functionality since it entered v4. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14024905, 6 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14507971, 6 years agoOnce you log in you can't log out, even if you completely remove the addon.
Load of shit. - Rated 3 out of 5by Andralon, 6 years agoIt's an ok app.
compared to all other available twitch apps i would have to give it 5 stars.
the twitch speech bubble symbol looks kinda cute
alarm sound / reminder still doesn't work though - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14079717, 7 years agoI really like the idea of the extension and the functionality. Unfortunately this extension causes my fire fox to freeze so I have disabled it for now.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14028295, 7 years agoDark mod as a bug
you see a blank window unless yout pointer go on a visible button
exept that its perfect :) - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13373608, 7 years agoUsed to be great.
Lately it's very bugged. At least without beeing logged in to Twitch. Only mode I use. If I need to be logged in to Twitch, then I also can use Twitch Website itself to look up which channel is online...
Currently I follow around 70 channels with this add-on, but it shows only around 10 of them.
Also there are 20 channels online, it is only showing 4 of them. Searching the channels it says i have already followed them.
Also unfollowing one channel results in deleting all my followed channels.
It's kind of hard to be used lately, which is sad.
Did write several issue reports in the dev's github, no reaction of the dev since over 4 months...
There are other add-ons which I would recommend. Although I don't like the design of the other ones, but this here is not useable currently.
Edit:
Fixed the bug, which would not show all my followed channels. Only favorites were shown. And the favorite button on the search bar at the top changes everything only after the page was switched, not directly after the button is pressed.... - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13742444, 7 years agoThis addon is great, however if I try to unfollow someone from favourites (in the mode without logging to twitch), it automatically deletes my whole list of followed channels. The only way for me to unfollow someone is to export the list of followed channels, find out what channel has what id number and then delete it manually from the exported txt file so I can import it again. It's not that big deal if you are used to make backup from time to time. Anyway keep up the good work.
- Rated 5 out of 5by KAMOB, 7 years agoHello! The follow button has stopped working for me. Even after reinstallation, it works once - twice and no longer responds to clicks. I also tried to completely reinstall firefox, but the problem persists. Also, some channels are not informed when they are online. Perhaps this is due to the update of firefox and all poshlo po pizde)). I hope the problem will be resolved soon.
P.S. Thank you so much for this addition.
Google translator - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13696623, 7 years agoAs far as i used it, works fine and has all the features that i need
- Rated 2 out of 5by Rex0, 7 years agoFor some reason, the developer stopped responding to my detailed issues in the previous review. I'll just highlight them again anyway.
In 4.1.6, I am still unable to follow channels unless I log in. Even then, the functionality is crappy for me since the heart icon doesn't change any color to indicate whether it worked or not.
I already have the "Enable ability to follow channels without logging in to Twitch" option checked. But when I'm not logged in and then try to follow a channel:
- "View streams of currently followed channels" shows me nothing.
- "View all followed channels" shows me nothing.
I don't know if it's because it's in conflict with another add on. Not to mention, I often used to click on my followed games and see what streams are on. That option still isn't there.
Still using 3.1.12 because of all this. Why can't it just be what it used to be?Developer response
posted 7 years agoI'm really sorry, but I've been very busy with real life matters that have made it difficult to devote a lot of time to making improvements to Twitch Fox!
I'm still confused at why you and others are having the issue of being unable to follow channels even with the override enabled. The heart icon *should* change color, and it works when I test it. This feature is working fine for some people, so I'm still confused at what the possible sources of this issue could be.
Followed games will come. Feel free to use an older version until they do; I don't have all the time in the world to work on this, and I have plenty of other issues from other users to address as well!
Please remember that I had to rewrite the *entire* add-on from scratch to be compatible with WebExtensions. Many, many other add-ons are about to be completely unfunctional in less than three weeks. Until August, I was ready for Twitch Fox to be one of them. But I have decided to keep updating it, and that includes trying to address your concerns as you have them. I apologize for not replying to edits on your previous review. I don't receive notifications when reviews are changed; only when they are made. Please use this site to fill out detailed issues: https://github.com/Hunter5000/twitch-fox/issues , where I will be notified of any new posts and updates. It's also a lot less of a sink in the heart to see a new GitHub issue than an unfavorable Twitch Fox review, but I do recognize your anger over the missing features, and I am trying my best to address them, but it is a difficult task with so many other things going on! I respect your dedication to Twitch Fox, and I don't plan on losing you as a user by ignoring your requests.
Edit: I solved the issue of being unable to follow channels for another user by having them import a follows .txt files that just had [] in it. I should add in an automatic fix for this, but it sounds like this may be the solution to your problem. - Rated 4 out of 5by Fwedo, 7 years agoNice add-on that I use for a long time, sometimes the connection to Twitch is lost and it can be a bit hard to navigate through. But can you please give us back the option to switch the notifications off between specific hours ?
Edit : The loss of connection was with the old version sorry. I don't have any problem with the current version as far as I knowDeveloper response
posted 7 years agoYes, that feature shouldn't be too hard to add back. I'm sorry for forgetting to add it back in the first place!
And I'm not sure what exactly can be done about the connection to Twitch getting lost. What kind of change do you think I could make that would help deal with that? What did the old version do better in that regard? - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13380358, 7 years agoIt shows none of the channels that I favorite until I add any random channel when I open the browser. This also prevents it from informing me if they are online. I'm not using the Twitch log in function because I don't trust any third party with my credentials.
To elaborate: I have three channels I have faved. It even shows that they are there in the settings, because the option to remove them is there. If I close the browser and reopen it my faves are no longer populated. If I search for any random channel and favorite it they all show up in the favorites tab again.Developer response
posted 7 years agoCan you elaborate on this first issue? I can't recreate this right now, so maybe it will be resolved in the next update.
You're free to not use the Twitch log in feature, however do be aware that the only glimpse Twitch Fox gets of your credentials is an access token that can only be used by Twitch Fox and can be revoked by you at any time; it's not like it stores your username and password.
Edit: So, to favorite a channel, you must follow it first. Are your non-favorited followed channels showing up fine? When you say you search for a random channel and favorite it, do you mean you follow it and then favorite it? The distinction is important when I try to investigate the cause of this issue. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13378395, 7 years agoThe addon works an is unobtrusive. It gives you a popup when people you follow go live.
**The issue I've described below has been fixed in an update. Great add-on.
Would be 5 stars but for whatever reason the audio alert no longer works.
I've gone through the settings. Set volume to 100. Made sure it's set to audio alert for favorites. But when streamers (who I've favorited) go live I don't get anything other than a popup. No audio alert.Developer response
posted 7 years agoI noticed this, and I found the problem. I feel really dumb that I didn't fix this earlier! In version 4.1.3 this should be fixed, so let me know if it's still broken after the update.
