Privacy policy for Unclickbait - Real YouTube Thumbnails
Unclickbait - Real YouTube Thumbnails by Extension Stack
Unclickbait collects no personal data. Nothing it reads or keeps leaves your device.
Where it runs: only on YouTube (youtube.com and its subdomains) and YouTube's image server, i.ytimg.com.
What it does there: when a YouTube page loads a video's thumbnail, the extension's browser rules have the browser load one of the frames YouTube already keeps of that video instead, from the same YouTube server. Where YouTube has no frame, it puts the original thumbnail back. It doesn't read, record or send your browsing history, the videos you see or watch, or anything else on the page.
What it keeps, in your browser's extension storage on your device only: whether you've turned it on or off; the last day it was used and how many times, so it can ask for a review at most a few times; and the extension's version, so it can tell you once about what's new after an update. Uninstalling the extension deletes them.
What it sends: nothing. No account or sign-in, no analytics or tracking, no ads and no servers of its own. The only requests it causes are the frame images it loads from YouTube in place of the thumbnails.
We don't sell, rent, share or transfer any user data, since the extension collects none.
